Holidays
Would you book a holiday for May 2022
celebrategoodtimes42 · 30/08/2021 15:31
I'm dying for a holiday. Had 3 cancelled in 2020 so didn't book anything for 2021.
Feeling really low and need something to look forward to..:would I be silly to book for May next year?
DarlingCoffee · 30/08/2021 15:34
Not silly at all. Go for it. Just make sure you take out good insurance/cancellation cover.
celebrategoodtimes42 · 30/08/2021 15:36
Thanks @DarlingCoffee
Decision made...I'm going to book it
DarlingCoffee · 30/08/2021 15:37
Good for you! For what it’s worth we went away this year, and it did us all the world of good having a break away. Hope you enjoy your holiday too when it comes around and enjoy looking forward to it.

Thank you, I've started the count down now

Our next flights to Australia are booked for May 2022 - so fingers crossed!
We've had 8 flights cancelled so far including November 2021 and February 2022, so we'll just have to wait and see.
Like you, I need something to look forward to.

Definitely book but get good travel insurance. If you've got an account with Barclays they do one of the best travel insurance.

We are currently in Rhodes and it is amazing. DD is 15 so had to pay for an antigen test for her on the way out then test requirements on the way home, totally worth it though. Flights were only £10 and accommodation and eating out amazingly cheap compared to the UK.
We book flights and hotels separately so our destination has moved a lot. I am prepared to loose £10 flights and book refundable accomadation or the hotel at the last minute. Staying in a small, family owned hotel with an amazing and large pool for £20 a night. Lots of repeat visitors- probably not somewhere I would have booked before but 5* reviews on trip advisor.

Ooh, where is it @willstarttomorrow? It sounds lovely.
justwondering21 · 30/08/2021 21:24
F to hear the hotel in Rhodes. We are planning a trip for next year.

We have booked to go to Halkidiki in May half term. Fingers crossed it goes ahead. I still have a doubt in the back of my mind though. A few of my friends have been to Greece this summer holidays and said it's been lovely.
willstarttomorrow · 31/08/2021 08:03
We booked the hotel through tui using hotel only search, it is in lardos bay. We are really enjoying it and because it is so cheap we are more than happy to pay for meals out (or here as the food is really good).

Go for it! We are in Majorca at the minute and it's so lovely just to get away for a break.
Airports were quick and easy - much better than they used to be pre-COVID!
NeedWineNow · 31/08/2021 22:19
To for it! We've just done a week coastal cruising with P&O up to Scotland - it was fabulous. So good just to get away, all Covid protocols in place and plenty of room as shop was sailing with reduced capacity. We felt completely safe.
We're booked for Greece next year - held over from this year - and are looking forward to it already.

I would, we had four holidays cancelled last year. We were in Ibiza in July and it was much safer in terms of strict cleanliness, mask wearing and lower numbers and going to Alicante in October as long as Spain stays Amber.
