Were there any? I need it to balance out an essay. I've covered Britain and Russia but can't find anything for Germany.

I'm getting rather frustrated now so if anyone can point me in a place to look I will send Wine

According to Wiki after the rise to power of the Nazis you'll have trouble tracing German women who taught in universities and practised medicine. Germany went from having 37 female Members of Parliament out of 577, to 0 after the German election in November 1933. This deliberate silencing extended to the regional parliaments and municipal counsels. Furthermore a law was passed in 1936, banning women from certain high-level positions in the judicial system.

Have a look at the Wiley Online Library source

for a paper called
A Woman’s Place...?: German-speaking Women in Exile in Britain, 1933–1945 by Charmian Brinson
DOI: 10.1111/1468-0483.00094

This paper looks at some of the German-speaking women exiles — political, intellectual and racial — who took refuge in Britain between 1933 and 1945 and the reception and conditions they experienced there, both before and after the outbreak of war.

Thank you. I had something about all women doctors and teachers being sacked but my brain hadn't realised that actually the nazi ideology of a woman's place wouldn't have allowed them to have a political voice. Will check out the essay Smile
