I felt a bit off yesterday and the day before but nothing to stop me carrying on assumed I was tired after all the heat, and a holiday coming up I've been particularly busy.
I've woken up at 4am needing the loo....which is not unusual, and while passing and just after I felt like I was having contractions in my bladder, while passing water I didnt experience and stinging or burning. I passed a normal amount but shortly after (within 15 mins) I needed to go again. And the same happened again.. I havent been to the toilet for about an hour now and I've taken some paracetamol and swigging a pint of water..... I go on holiday to Asia Sunday....should i go to my gp this morning or am i wasting their time....and an appointment. I had a uti abroad a few years ago but this doesnt feel the same because that felt like I was weeing razor blades this is just my bladder

I had to laugh thanking me for not going in 🤣🤣🤣

D-mannose is wonderful for UTIs, if you order some today from Sweet Cures on line, it will arrive tomorrow (expensive, but worth it).

Call the surgery and ask to drop a urine sample in to be dipped. Have a good trip.

I could write a bloody book on UTIs I have known and not loved and my attempts to treat them in random places

I’ve had a variety of UTIs and they don’t have the same symptoms. Kidney infections are much worse than cystitis and don’t have any pain when going for a wee. Some of them have had radiating pain in my side and others a fixed pain and others no pain, but I have felt like death with a raging temperature. I definitely know what you mean by that contraction feeling. For me that’s an indication that I haven’t been drinking enough water ( a few days of tea coffee and alcohol will do it for me) and I’m
heading towards a UTI. Have you got any bicarbonate of soda in the house? I think you should use a teaspoon in a long drink of water - essentially flood it out. Keep drinking. Lemon barley water is good if you have it ( not other juices etc though) and will help mask the flavour of the bicarbonate. I’ve never found cranberry juice to be much help but maybe as a prevention aid. ( I have some at the moment for cocktails. Smile ). If you’ve got some you may as well drink it. I usually have those cystitis relief sachets in the house which are convenient and taste ok. Take a view after 12 hours about going to the Drs. I know after that time if my home treatment is going to be enough or not. If not I always need antibiotics... and even then for deeply entrenched infections certain antibiotics don’t touch it.

@newmomof1 my thinking is about being in pain abroad too......In Asia! I had a bladder infection I'm europe 3 days in to my holiday a few years agai and it was torture in the heat, but I will only get an emergency appointment and I dont want to waste that it may be nothing and then someone who really needed it goes without. I do this all the time put off going, but I think I have to just to be safe my dogs dont open for another 3 hours so I may just judge between now and then or for the rest of the day and go tomorrow...ffs I dot have time to maybe be ill or go to the doctors for that matter 🤣

I've had this before but never went to the doctors. I'd normally say drink plenty and see how you feel but if you're going away I'd definitely get it checked out today if you can, just in case. You don't want to be ill in a foreign country!
