I am NOT pregnant, this is just a question....Are you more likely to have another healthy baby after all prev children are or less likely?

I think statisically you're more likely to have a healthy baby.

Dh think not.

It's just a question......

but you would be older, and risks increase with age.

statistically you are right, because there is not an equal chance for everyone to have a child with problems. If you have a track record of no problems, then your odds would be better than someone with a track record of problems (since most problems are associated with higher risk of recurrence - i.e. its not random).

Statistically you're right, LTSH.
Because you're more likely, if you carry certain genetic defects, to pass them onto any of your children -- including your first born.

Obviously, if you don't have the genes for cystic fibrosis/sickle cell/Tay Sachs -- you won't pass them onto any child, including the firstborn. Same for any genetic condition.

Many problems in babies aren't genetic though, some of these may be likely to recur, some may not. Depends what the problem is.

Um, not sure really. ds1 born very ill and my other two are fine. My friend's ds1 born fine, her ds2 ill (similar condition to my ds1) and her dts born one very healthy and one not. Think it is probably the luck of the draw really.

lol at your thread title though, LTH, are you sure?
