Please please say someone has a way to fix this. It can't be pushed back in, cream is helping but not much. This is the worst pain I've been in in a while and I just had my 3rd baby.

Anyone any tips? I'm not able to get suppositories until it can go back in, I can't cope with it at all

Thanks everyone I'm on day 2 of anusol. I really need to look at my diet, have lived off of tea, Diet Coke and wine since dd was born 9 weeks ago, don't even know where to start with that. But if it helps me get this problem under control I'll try anything at this point

You can freeze large sanitary towels and apply them, the sort of ones you're given after delivery. I suffered from engorged piles during pregnancy, my doc was excellent and helped me deal with it...I think it was just anusol, but it may be worth you seeing your GP for advice.

What cream are you using? One from a Pharmacy? I went to doctors in agony after the birth of DD and he prescribed me the Anusol which has steroids in it. I felt much better within a week.

I can recommend Prep H wipes .. you'll feel really clean and they soothe the area too. You can buy anusol hc .. it's got hydrocortisone in it and seems to help more .. you can't use it for long but it helped me a lot more than the normal cream. I think they keep it behind the counter though .. or you can order online.

You could try sitting in as cold a bath as you can tolerate. It only needs to be deep enough to cover it/them and keep returning to it for as long as you can stand. Can help to shrink and also numbs. Sorry it is so horrible and painful I've been there myself.

I'm sure you're doing this anyway, but make sure you are eating a high fibre diet and drinking lots of water. it'll reduce any further damage being done when you are having a poo.

You have my sympathies. I have a bastard pile at the moment, but thankfully cream and fibre is working so far...

Aye it's like a red hot poker for sure. And what I can only describe as a malteaser sticking out my bum. Nearly passed out trying to push it back it.

It's not so much itching I think I maybe had that before it got this bad its just a constant burning. Came home from a family lunch after sitting for a few hours and it was bleeding quite a bit. Will get witch hazel tomorrow after the school run

The pain of piles is a bit like how I imagine having a large, red hot poker shoved up your backside would feel.
I tried to explain this to DH the other day. He just looked baffled.

I guess he thinks if anyone was in that much pain they would be unable to function...
Unfortunately often there is no choice but to struggle on.
I hope you manage to get some relief OP.
It is a problem that is often not taken seriously by those who have not experienced it.

Ice is amazing on piles. I had a massive cluster when dd1 was born, and they bled Sad ice and a drug called diclofenac (sp?) which is an anti inflammatory really helped.

Mine also throbbed which kept me awake. Piles are bastards!

Can I ask what the pain feels like ?
Because I woke up in the middle of the night with a really bad pain in my back passage, could that be piles ?

Ok, re-read and to be honest, unless it's when you're trying to go for a no. 2, they don't normally pain you? Or maybe they do and I have selectively painful piles.

Is it hurting or itching?

You can refreeze the peas as long as you put them in a clean plastic bag and label them so nobody eats them.

Ice pack?
If you have a bag of frozen peas wrap in an old towel and place it in between your bum cheeks.
Try and lie down with your hips raised.
That might reduce it a bit until you can do cream and suppositories.
