Oh poor wee thing, medised's a godsend though!

Well today she is feeling even worse
Lots of spots keep appearing now and she still cant shake this temperature and cough, and she was sick again today despite not really eating. We are on number 2 of the lost spot heads.
I think i might give her some Medised tonight as she hasn't slept all day.

DD had it at Xmas (what a kind Santa) she only got 5 spots in total but was quite poorly & ended up with an accompanying chest infection which GP says is not uncommon. Hopefully although not a lot of spots other symptoms were quite bad so Dr didn't seem to think she'd get it again. Only one spot on her face just beside her eyebrow & she managed to knock it off whilst washing her face so she's a lovely wee scar, funnily enough I have one in almost exactly the same place from CP as a child.
Hope your LO is feeling a bit better & not too spotty.

Just remembered a tip I read (on here?) - to entertain children with chicken pox give them some calamine lotion and a paintbrush and let them join the dots, either on themselves or each other .

Hours of fun!

Hopefully she won't get too many more spots PFNM. When DD had it (when she was about 14m) she only had about 6 spots.

I'm half expecting DS to get it as its been going round at nursery (although not in his room and he only goes 2 mornings a week). I'd rather he caught it now and got it out of the way as I was 19 when I had it and had millions of spots - so not a good look for a 19yr old

Hope your ds is feeling less itchy very soon!

I had Chicken Pox when I was 15, still remember it to this day! (itch, itch, itch!)

Well the gp confirmed it.
She has a few more spots now and looks quite poorly with temperature and cough, although not too scratchy at the moment. She is also still complaining about pain in her back on the one side ,i did tell the gp but she didn't seem too concerned.
Hope it isn't kidney pain or something?
I worry about this as she has never really drunk much and we always have to nag her.

No probs. When they're poorly and itchy, you'll try anything. Even breakfast in the tub.
I was lucky, neither of them scratched much. My friend had to tape socks on her 3 1/2 yr olds hands to stop him scratching in the night.

Yep. Apparently it soothes the itching. I was sceptical too, but it seemed to wqork and she went to sleep much better. Actually not the baby but dd1 who is 3 yrs.

Agree with Kristina, but if itching is driving them mad, try an oatmeal bath. Very soothing. Normal oats in a sock, chuck it in the bath and yse it like a sponge. Obv being really careful when washing and drying, not to take the tops off the spots.
I kind of splotted the lotion on with a cotton ball, really thick. Seemed to help a lot. Not Boots brand it's runny.
