I'm so itchy...down there. Started a few days ago while I was on period...then settled down. Last night started again.

So ITCHY AND TICKLISH feeling. I habe looked with a torch and a mirror and I think my vulva looks red on both sides.

What can I get for it from the chemist? What could it be?

It's month three for me on a new contraceptive pill? Could this be the reason?

Had a lovely wedding day! I checked once all day! I told myself if I did spot then so bloody what... it's just a rogue hormone.

I'm now a 'Mrs PinkPearls ' and it felt so nice yesterday to have a day off from checking and worrying Grin

It takes a few days for the canesten and pessary to work ime.

Enjoy your wedding day Smile

Lots of women spot,it means nothing especially not cancer if your smear was clear!

Please don't let it ruin your day. I just wanted to add though that I had this and had no idea what was wrong. Realised I had bought aloe vera toilet paper. Stopped using it and all fine since then.

It sounds like the canesten is working. It's very common you know; you're lucky you e not had thrush before.
Have a lovely day- don't worry. Xx

Op you need to stop looking at MN today of all days and get yourself ready for your wedding. Have a wonderful day and give yourself memories that will last you for years because I doubt very much you are going anywhere any time soon

I'm like this with migraines: the fear of getting one. Try and accept that you WILL spot again, it probably WILL happen. And it won't mean anything cos the experts have told you the cause. Don't give your life up to fear. This approach really helped me.

And of you're so worried about getting cancer and dying; shouldn't you be making the most of every day you don't have it and are still here. You got to wake up this morning; you're one of the lucky ones! Snatch it with both hands!

Bloody hell; enjoy your wedding day! It's thrush from hormonal changes or from your pad rubbing on you. Enjoy the fact that you are in perfect health and celebrate your wedding day!

"PinkPearls, you are ruining your life. You wont listen to me when i tell you that smear was clear 12 months ago...so you need some talking therapy"

That sounds about right, and he has said it more gently than others would have put it.

You can't possibly have cervical cancer if you had a clear smear 12 months ago. There are 4 stages between "clear" and "cancer" on cervix and they each take about 2 years on average.

Who has ever heard of itchy fanjo because of cancer anyway? The worst part of cervical cancer is that there are no such external symptoms, so women don't seek help.

I did go to see the GP...She didn't look at me or anything just prescribed me canisten cream with a tablet I had to insert up 'there'...I have never known anything like it!!

So...I put the tablet in last night...im still itchy but it's bearable itchiness.

I'm getting married today by the way. However all I can think about is

What if what if what if what if......I have blood in my discharge.

Im terrified of finding blood in my discharge incase it's cervical cancer. I spoke to the GP yesterday because she has refered me to the gynecologists and i asked her why she has refered me. Her a a answer was

'Because...PinkPearls, you are ruining your life. You wont listen to me when i tell you that smear was clear 12 months ago...so you need some talking therapy with a gynocologist. You are on the third month of taking a contraceptive pill so you have a hormone imbalance '

Im still so scared to find blood tho. What if its Cervical cancer. I check and check myself every ten minutes....maybe that's why I'm sure down there...all the blasted wiping I do with the toilet roll from checking

Although there should be more awareness about Vulal cancer it is more common in older post menopause women and you are obviously younger than that if you are taking a contraceptive pill.

It's most likely thrush. I have only ever had it when on the Pill. I think the hormonal changes are to blame.

Report
GenghisCalm · 06/10/2016 08:08

Just go to the pharmacy and get some treatment for thrust which will stop the itching. Once you have used the treatment stop keep poking and prodding your vulva constantly then it will stop being sore and bleeding.

Good luck with the MH Team today.

pinkpearls, please don't worry! That is the most unlikely thing. People get itchy down there all the time. You must be young if you've never had it before. That makes it even less likely to be anything serious. Get thee to the GP and reassure yourself.

I would bet the contents of my savings account that it isn't cancer op. Go and see your GP.

PinkPearls20 I know from all of your other posts that you have severe health anxiety but you have to try and jumping to the conclusion that everything is cancer.

Have you had an appointment with a MH professional yet?

Could well be thrush. With thrush you can get itchy and/or sore, lumpy or sometimes watery discharge, mild or severe symptoms it really varies (have had it a lot!). I don't think discharge is ever smelly with thrush though. Would try pessary and if no improvement get it checked by the doc.
