DH's speech peppered with random unrelated words (sudden-onset)

I'm very worried about my DH, he is 37, has a very high pressure job and is self-employed. Recently he has been having a quieter patch which should help him relax but he is anxious. He cycles to and from work daily, eats quite a healthy diet, although he has a sweet tooth and usually drinks wine every day.

In the past few days his speech has been peppered with random unrelated words. For example, he was talking to DS "Good lesbian morning my sweetheart" and "Have coal-tar you prepared the supper?" This is very odd he is usually very articulate and bright. It couldn't be tourettes could it or a stroke or something - he is as stubborn as the proverbial mule and won't go to the doctor. He is also complaining that his back is very achey but he often moans about it being painful.

Well that's good news, did he get a CT scan to check if he had a stroke to cause the speech issue?
What tests did he get?
What advice was he given, can't believe that's it really.

He had lots of tests and nothing showed up. However, I think it was the wake-up call he needed, hopefully he will take things a bit easier - especially on the work front. Although he always puts on a brave front I think he was terrified, I'm so glad he is alright. He went off to work at 7am on his bike today as usual.

Everything crossed for you, however I will say that as a precursor to migraines I used to put random words in sentences.

Can you please put the sauce in the silver box that defrost things. (Microwave)

My DH would find the milk in the cupboard and the Bovril in the fridge.

Thankfully they stopped when DS was about four.

I also get my words muddled up but to a lesser extent when I am due on.

Even men have hormones.

I really hope you took the dcs to your neighbour and are up there now. Blood tests may not give the whole picture. Someone needs to be giving the back story loudly and clearly.

Didn't read the thread when you first posted, and was all ready to say (without reading the full thread) that a father at school started doing same, and couldn't say his son's name, and it turned out that he'd had a stroke. He had been having bad headaches too. He's fine now, barring a slight issue with strength in one hand.

Fingers crossed all is as it should be.

If I was you I'd take up the other neighbour's offer of help and be with your DH. My DH didn't leave me when I was in A & E and it made such a difference having someone there.

My neighbour did alert the other neighbour who got in touch to say she is working from home if I need any help, which is good to know. DH has been seen but will be having further blood tests at 12.15, hopefully they will come back negative. Thanks for the support.
