My first pregnancy was really easy Grin. the second has been hell. loads of spd no supprot from m/w or gp. I was wondering whether if i go for no3 it will be the same or worse. I will have 21month gap between 1&2.

I had terible SPD with DS1 but with DS2 I was barely affected at all! There is hope! I only had a 17 month gap between them. They were both the same weight exactly.

I had very mild SPD after the birth of DS - don't think I realised that was what it was. Had terrible spd with DD, was hospitalised bedbound on morphine from 33 weeks, and was induced at 371/2 weeks. Was strongly advised not to have any more. DD is 4 now, and I have been completely fine for a couple of years, but there will be no more children for us. Am wondering whether the permanent solution we went for to ensure this could be reversed though, as nearly all my friends are having no.3 and I am extremely broody - but have to keep reminding myself of the exquisite agony I was in, and the fact that all the rellies that rallied round to look after DS last time are older, and prob. couldn't manage 2, and anyway my musings are immaterial as DH is adamant that he doesn't want any more, and neither do I if I let my head rule my heart.

First pregnancy had SPD from 15 weeks was mild to moderate I would say.

Second pregnancy again struck at 15 weeks and much worse, probably not helped by the fact DD2 was incubated nearly 4 weeks longer and was 3lbs heavier.

I have also found that SPD gets dismissed as normal pregnancy back pain. I have 18 months between my two and to be honest it is putting me off number 3 a little bit.
