Is it true you can get veins blitzed by injection?

Has anybody tried it? I have quite veiny legs now, since I became pregnant with ds, they don't bulge out like varicose veins but maybe they will become so in the near future. It was commented on recently and I must say I hadn't realised how different they were to a few years ago.

Its called sclerotherapy I think. It injects something into the vein that closes it up and so it fades away. It can wear off after a while, and isn't always effective long term. Varicose veins do tend to reoccur anyway. I ahve terrible legs, since my twin pg and will prob have to look at gettign something done if I lose weight. There is no way I can get my legs out nowadays. My mother has had hers stripped twice, and still has some now. Stripping leaves scars too, so that isn't ideal, but it works on the bigger ones too.

Same as Jenkel here, no stretch marks, but slight vein behind one knee - and lots of teeny thread ones. Yes, I've heard of this too - though I don't know if you can get just 'blue' veins treated: have heard of it for varicose veins.

I think I have heard of this too, but I think over a period of the time the injection can wear off, quite a few years I think.

I have thread veins and a few that stick out a little, no stretch marks for me just horrible veins. My mum had them too. but she had hers stripped, dont like the sound of that. At the moment they dont look too bad, just keeping an eye on them but may have to get something done in the future.

No I don't mean the thread veins I mean blue veins but they're not varicose unless they protrude, is that right?

Do you mean little thread veins? If so you can also have laser treatment on them I think, but IPL is safer I believe. I will watch this thread though as mine have definately got worse since being pregnant with dd2.

Better IMO to use IPL - intense pulsed light technology. If you have fairly large beauty salon near you they should offer it.
