I-pod playing songs I didn't download!!!!

Just listening to my i-pod on the speakers and it is playing songs I haven't dowloaded along with ones I have.....

No-one else has touched it - DH hasn't got the first idea... and anyway he's too busy with his wii!

When I first used iTunes there were some sample tracks on there which I missed completely to start with - wondered what they were when first heard them, lol! Some World Music or something or other. I just deleted them from iTunes.

It's an i-pod nano, 4th gen. I did click on genius thing, but it's on the docking speakers, not the lap-top, so how could it be downloading other songs, and will it cost me?!

Is it an Actual Ipod, or a generic MP3/4 player?
