Please tell me about your kitchen disasters to make me feel better.

I made the most gorgeous Victoria sponge today, my first ever too. It was so light perfect colour and texture.

I lovingly decorated it with cream and jam, then put some Chantilly cream in an icing bag(my first time using an icing bag too) and put 10 perfect little drops on the top layer (Yes I know it should be just caster sugar) then 10 baby strawberries, one on each little heap of cream.

I was admiring it and considering taking a pic when I dropped the top layer onto the floor.

I picked it up immediately but my decoration was ruined.

Then to top it off I dropped and smashed the lid of my lizard's vivarium.

Hearing about other people's disasters would make me feel so much better..flutters eyelashes hopefully.

years ago i was doing lunch buffet for new mil - had cooked a whole salmon, was taking skin off before putting 'tasteful' cucumber slices on it, as the old bag was parking her car, i dropped some of the skin on the floor, bent down to pick it up and the whole bloody thing slid off the work top on to my head i greeted mil covered in fish skin and lumps of salmon

i can laugh about it now

hence a big clean up operation and then to top the disaster off all the electrics went off for no reason and the meal was ruined so you were not the only one
