I'm done with supermarkets

Is anyone else done with supermarkets? Maybe it's my lack of tollerence for people, or the fact my local Sainsbury's only seems to sell produce with short dates I'm done I've decided. Does anyone else share this opinion. Supermarkets used to be convenient and good value. I'm trying to shop local where I can. Local grocer now delivers weekly a mixed fruit and veg box for £25, it's actually exciting to see what arrived each week, everyone rummaging around in the box, never did that with orange plastic bags. That's another thing, much much less packaging. Meat and fish wise we don't have a great butcher he's overpriced so we shop online and their stuff is amazing, we found them during lockdown actually and stayed with them.
Fish, we have a fantastic range of fishmongers being by the coast and go on the weekend, it's exciting.
Anyway that's my rant, just wondered what others though.
If anything good has come from the last two years it's realising buying from independent shops feels better and we have higher quality food in the house and much less waste.

I do not mind shopping at supermarkets however. If there is a deli etc attached to it, the better. I love farm shops as well, they are great for cheese, fruit and vegetables too. I prefer to order meat from a farm shop. I only ever buy wine from the supermarket along with clothes or books. I buy pet food from a local pet shop nearby instead, better quality.

I live in London so have a pick of supermarkets that deliver. I usually get Sainsburys or Waitrose, though before moving here it was Tesco 99% of the time.
I don't like going to supermarkets as I find it all too tempting and I go off track. Plus it's a killer time wise, snd that's also a reason I don't go to several different providers - I'm not bothered enough to go here for produce, there for fish, yet another for toiletries and another for pet food!

I rarely use supermarkets....use local grocers...turkish....fab fresh items and you can pick them up and look at them....pop into B and M also sometimes but the queues at checkout are huuuuuuge....always people rummaging about for purse etc at last minute ...dont have the correct card....items with no price.....

I fell out with B&M when I bought disposable foil trays at Christmas then went next door to Home Bargains and they were considerably cheaper.

I use a local butcher and fishmonger ('world famous' local market, in the north west, bloody brilliant)

I use an Asian green grocer for fresh and grown groceries.

I both love and hate B+M GrinIt's a fantastic shop that sells great stuff at sensible prices - but is always so busy and loud.
Supermarkets generally do my head in too but I would rather get everything in one go rather than from different shops.
Shopping sucks basically.

Cleaning products is the only thing we either get online or b&m which is local. That's the least food shop tbh. Petfoods from the vet. Tins we buy only tomatoes and beans and get them from the deli.

Where do you buy all your non food products from though? Cleaning stuff, loo roll, toiletries etc.
What about tins and packets? Don't you buy those? You could make your own pasta I suppose but what about things like rice?

I feel exactly the same. The main thing that puts me off is the people! Closely followed by their obsessive use of plastic when every single individual I know is doing their best to be environmentally aware. Not greedy supermarkets though

We have a fruit and veg box delivered, I find it really great but the contents are definitely cheaper to buy in a supermarket, so feel fortunate it's something we can comfortably afford. I do hate shopping though, I tend to go really early or really late so it's more likely to he quiet.
