I like to keep a good store cupboard due to living in the middle of nowhere

But I have surpassed myself, there are 9 jars ( some maybe a tiny bit past their sell by date but all still unopened)

Help!

I mistakenly bought 7 bottles of cif when stocking brexit stash earlier this year ( over several shops just kept forgetting I had some). Now if we could devise some kind of peanut home cleaning remedy I’d be happy to swap. Grin

Thai slaw - v finely chopped cabbage dressed with a mix of peanut butter, sweet chilli sauce and lime juice. My even chip and ketchup loving ds loves it.

Also that mix works well on a rice noodle / veg / poss meat combo.

A great ingredient in many se Asian curries.

@glitterbiscuits

2 tblsp oil
1 large raw beetroot, grated
I large red onion, chopped
1 large carrot, grated
1 large courgette, grated
1 tin chickpeas
2 heaped tblsp peanut butter
2oz breadcrumbs

Sweat the veg in oil with a large pinch of salt ( I do this in 2 batches).
Pulse the chickpeas in a processor, then add breadcrumbs, peanut butter and stir in veg.

Shape in to burgers. These can be baked in the oven, grilled or barbecued. They also freeze well, so I often make a double batch and freeze half.

These Nigella peanut noodles are delicious.

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/06/2019 09:01

Groundnut stew - quick and delicious!

morallybankruptme · 09/06/2019 10:09

This is soooo American but simply grab a choc bar and dunk it into the peanut butter. Heavenly.

Or try peanut butter cookies, African chicken curry ( I cannot remember the exact name) with peanut butter, satay dip for chicken or simply pb and j sandwiches.

morallybankruptme · 09/06/2019 10:11

Dd eats peanut butter on toast every morning for breakfast. We get through a lot of pb here.

Don’t wish to hijack the thread but I have a jar of almond butter to use up. Can it be substituted for peanut butter in these recipes?

Thanks!

Branleuse · 09/06/2019 10:21

on toast with sriracha sauce

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 09/06/2019 10:23

I've not made them but I've eaten them.....peanut butter chocolate brownie, where the peanut butter is sort of swirled into the brownie. Bloody gorgeous!

Splice an unpeeled banana lengthways. Spread peanut butter down the middle. Inhale.

Milk shake - add something sweet too. A banana or dollop of ice cream.

Korean Noodles with veg or beef

2 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp gouchjang paste
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp sugar

Mix to a paste

2 garlic cloves
Thumb of ginger
Finely minced/grated and mixed with 1 tsp sesame oil
2 spring onions, sliced diagonally
Steak, finely sliced or
Broccoli (ideally tenderstem), lightly cooked or
Mushrooms, sliced or
A mixture of all three.

Fry the steak/veggies on a high heat. Keep them moving. 5/6 mins.
Add the paste, cooked noodles and maybe some of their cooking water if it needs loosening. Sprinkle with salted peanuts some sesame oil at the end. Maybe a squeeze of lime if you have one.

This takes 15 minutes start to finish in my house.

Thanks!

This thread has shocked me to the core. I have the opposite problem. My ds eats it every day and I cannot buy it fast enough! If you run out of recipes then feel free to send it to me! Grin

This is one of my favourite flapjack recipes - absolutely delicious.

Ingredients
175g butter, plus extra for greasing
100g demerara sugar
50g golden syrup
50g peanut butter
225g oats
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
2 tbsp sesame seeds

Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4. Butter a 28cm x 18cm swiss roll tray and line with baking paper.
Melt the butter in a large pan over a low heat, then add the sugar, syrup and peanut butter and stir over the heat until smooth. Add the oats and seeds and mix well. Spread in the tins and bake for 20 minutes. Leave to cool for 15 minutes in the tins. Mark the flapjack into bars, then turn them out of the tins when cool. Store in an airtight tin.

There's some great recipes on here. I might try all of them Grin

Xiaoxiong · 10/06/2019 06:37

OnePotato yes you can definitely substitute almond butter for peanut butter!

Clutterbugsmum · 10/06/2019 06:46

I know I'm completely missing the point, but how the hell did you manage to get 9 jars of peanut butter without noticing you already had a cupboard full.

Whackaguacamole · 10/06/2019 06:48

Do you have a dog or know people who do? As long as its not got xylitol in then it's great for kongs/licky mats

MrsCatnip · 10/06/2019 06:57

My family love this www.budgetbytes.com/african-peanut-stew-vegan/

ExpletiveDelighted · 10/06/2019 07:15

2 big spoonfuls of crunchy PB, approx 1/4 that amount sweet chilli sauce, a squirt of lime juice and a little boiling water to soften it up as you mix it. Serve with cold cooked fine rice noodles mixed with shredded cabbage, carrot and onion plus poached chicken breast, salmon or similar. Can also be used as satay sauce.

TheRattleBag · 10/06/2019 07:25

I'd recommend the three ingredient cookies that @MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours posted - I have used that recipe numerous times and it turns out great.

Hardest thing is getting the PB out of the jar in the first place!

Footle · 10/06/2019 08:40

Take the in-date jars to the food bank?

glitterbiscuits · 10/06/2019 09:21

@Clutterbugsmum I'm blaming the menopause!
It's such a trek to the supermarket I tend to bulk buy. And someone had put them in a different place from where I put them.

There are some great ideas here.
I'm going to start with Brownies. Hopefully noodles later in the week.

It's all organic stuff so I might put some out for the garden birds.
