Any ideas for quick lunches for a one year old and three year old (we just ate beans on toast again!)

The worst thing I have to do at home is work out what everyone is going to eat all the time. I feel like we are eating the same stuff for lunch all the time. Three year old already eats sandwiches twice a week as packed lunch in pre-school so am thinking non-sandwich lunch ideas. Any would be gratefully received!

I used to give mine
Omelette/spanish omelette
Boiled eggs
hummus and pitta bread with cucumber etc.
toasted bagels with scrambled eggs
Eggs with Crumpets
Mac cheese with tomatoes/broccoli or just pasta with grated cheese
veg soup with little pasta
Pesto pasta
gnocchi with a cheese or tomato sauce I'd add finely cut up veg
I'd give them some cut up fruit/ carrot etc too.

Spanish omelette or French toast
cheese on toast and carrot sticks/pepper/cucumber sticks with houmous
soup and bread
pasta bake or pasta with tomato sauce, sweetcorn or peas and tuna stirred in
chicken drumsticks, houmous and pitta bread
pate (mackerel or veggie) and dippers

DS (20mo) currently likes tinned sardines mashed with butter and cream cheese as either a dip or stirred into pasta.

I always keep a bit of leftover pasta as a quick lunch.

Eggs are brilliant for quick lunches. Scrambled are super quick. Or I boil a few then keep in the fridge for quick lunches, or boil fresh with soldiers. Egg tortilla is popular: one egg omelette laid on a tortilla. Add chopped tomato, grated cheese, marmite, ham etc as you fancy. Roll up and cut into pieces.

We serve leftover dinner for lunch a lot - risotto, curry, pasta sauce etc.

I remember French toast ( bread dipped in beaten egg and fried) with either tomato sauce or a sprinkle of sugar being popular
Egg fried rice made with leftover cooked rice
Vegetable and lentil soup with bread
Poached eggs on toast
Sardine and cucumber sandwiches
Guacamole and tomato salsa with homemade tortilla chips( cut flour tortillas into small triangles spray with oil and pop into a hot oven for 20 minutes

Mostly I feed DD platters of stuff. Her favourite combination is cheese on crackers, slices of apple and maybe a couple of crisps. She's also partial to carrot sticks and 'dippit' (hummus) with olives, and pate on crackers. She likes things which she can dip in and out of for lunch, doesn't take up too much playtime (or indeed concentration with cutlery!).

It's been a long time since I had to think about this, but how about hummus and strips of warm pitta, sticks of carrot, pepper, celery and cucumber and cherry tomatoes? Fried or poached or scrambled eggs and potato waffles (you can heat them up in the toaster)?

We like cheese and apple on toast - grate the cheese and grate some apple into it, then toast as usual.

Pasta salad with cream cheese rather than mayo as the 'wet' bit (generally loosened with a dash of milk) is a hit here. Often it's just with tuna and sweetcorn but you could be more imaginative - it's a good way to use up odd bits of leftovers.

Boiled eggs go down well with my toddler.

Savoury pancakes or fritters are sometimes a hit depending on her mood; can be a good way to get different veg in. E.g grated courgette.

Or I make extra dinner and we have that heated up.

But we have beans on toast a lot too!

People often recommend soup on threads like this. I've never really figured out how little ones would eat it without 99% going on the floor, but maybe someone can advise?!

Hummus & wholemeal pitta to dip (mine loves it), omelette, picky picnic lunch with cheese, cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks etc, pitta bread pizzas.

When I was doing BLW I used to make a massive batch of little savoury muffins with cheese and broccoli, and freeze them - they were useful for when it was 1pm and I hadn't even realised!

Omelette/Scrambled eggs
Baked potato in microwave with tuna and sweetcorn
"Snack lunch" - basically anything you have in your fridge! Usually cheese, crackers, avocado, cucumber, ham etc
Fish fingers with peas and sweetcorn
Soup with a sandwich for dipping
Spag bol (I make meat/sauce and freeze it flat in sandwich bags - takes minutes to defrost in hot water and I then serve it with any pasta)
Veggie burgers (from freezer)
Cheese on toast
