anyone watch come dine with me on Channel 4 tonight Thursday

Hi, Did anyone watch Jon making the chocolate mousse on channel 4 earlier today. He made a decoration for the top using sugar, does anyone have the recipe and what is it called? Am doing a dinner party and thought this would look good

didnt know you put water in it, thought it was just sugar. I am probably wrong though!!!!

Checked out the channel 4 website, but they dont give his recipes, something to do with copyright!

Got this from James Martin website::::To prepare spun sugar; it is best to use a sugar thermometer for this technique. Place 250g (9oz) granulated sugar into a deep saucepan and heat gently until completely dissolved, stirring occansionally. When the mixture reaches 152°C (306°F), immediately remove from the heat and cool for 2 minutes. Rub a wooden rolling pin or steel rod lightly with sunflower oil. Dip a spoon into the syrup and quickly whirl it around the rolling pin. The
syrup will form thin strands and will remain pliable for a few seconds so that you can slip it off and lightly shape it as desired.

Just one minor thought you may want to cover all sides and floor in your kitchen because this does make a very sticky mess on any service not covered with paper.
