Meringue + red berries + ??

I have a bunch of meringues (home made, yesterday - how long do they keep?), a very sharp compotey type thing made of red currants and red gooseberries. Should I add whipped cream or something? Or just serve meringue and the berries?

Crumble the meringues (which kept in an airtight container should last for several days) into the whipped cream, and add the berries. Eton Mess. Yum.

Fine, I have a picnic to go to tomorrow and need to get food for that anyway. Might take this stuff to the picnic? Probably not, as it's a toddler/baby sort of picnic.
