Pancakes without eggs?

My DS is allergic to eggs. He is now 4 yo and as Shrove Tuesday approaches I'd really like to make some pancakes that we can all eat together. I once tried making some with the egg substitute powder that you can buy in Holland & Barrett but they didn't really taste that great. I'd be really interested to hear if anyone has any tasty egg free recipes that I can try. Many thanks.

Any flour, enough milk to make the right consistency (you might need to make a few tester pancakes, adding more flour or milk), sugar to taste, cook as normal using a drizzle of oil or butter in the pan to prevent sticking. Pour on far too much golden syrup and give them all to me.

Try adding done soya flour. And experiment til you have the right mix. Good luck!

My 4yo also allergic to eggs & many recipes later we settled on :

Using a small cup (one of the kids ones)

Equal quantities of milk & flour- so one cup of each.

Mix together & cook using butter or veg oil.

They are a bit more like American pancakes but everyone eats them happily

I make vegan pancakes all the time, in fact my family prefer them to 'theirs' I don't use egg or dairy. 2 cups of self raising flour, 1 cup of almond, soy or rice milk or even water, 1 tsp vanilla essence, 1 tsp baking powder (f you want them fluffier or thicker than crepes) 1/2 tbsp oil (but I've forgotten this and it's fine) 2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt (again I often forget this). I serve them with maple syrup, lemon/sugar, banana/choc spread (asda do a non dairy dark one), fruit salad with vegan ice cream, Swedish glace Tesco sell it and it is gorgeous :)

I'm allergic to egg and also have problems with gluten ... Ripe banana mashed with almond or cashew nut butter make great pancakes, use a desert spoon of nut butter per banana, my dc love them. It makes a thick batter, and needs a longer, low to med heat cook. Great with bacon and a little maple syrup on top!
