Online groceries cock up. What do I do with a 10 bean mix?

I thought I'd try some of this healthy eating stuff and thought it was a salad or something, but it's the dried beans.

Ideas for what to do with it gratefully received.

Wow, loads of ideas. Thank you. I definitely need more stuff like this in my diet and less meat, so will try a few. Will try and sneak some onto D's plate too.

You can soak them over night and then cook them, once tender add tined tomatoes and smokes paprika, can brown some onion and garlic if you like and add some spinach, very easy but it actually really nice with some nice bread :)

Or you could make a 10 bean version of homemade baked beans. This recipe is nice, although you could use far less pork if you wanted to.

So many possibilities for dressing it:

You could apply this to your more numerous beans. Or something like this Mexican style affair. Or an Italian style salad. Or bean and corn salad. Or the various ideas here.

I'd do soup, broth. Lots of ideas on BBC food and Waitrose food.
If you got loads keep some to mix with a salad or a nice chilli or curry.

I did a hearty chicken and bean soup recently. Went down very well and used roast leftovers.
My veggie one was too healthy and boring according to ds1 and dh. Charming.

Use any dressing you like - balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil, lemon juice etc

Chilli sounds good. Not sure what you would add to make a salad out of them. What would you dress them in?

Yes naygnolonger it's in food. Grin

Beanbags. Very retro.

I would save it for the dried goods harvest festival......We always sent rice, pasta and tins to the Salvation army.

Or maybe the scout or school fete tombola. The only problem with that is you might win it back.

Blush Just noticed this is in food. Soak it over night and make a chille.

I'd soak and cook them according to the packet instructions and then make some kind of broth or casserole with the results. If they are all biggish beans i.e. not little lentils, then after you've soaked and cooked them, they'll freeze very well.

Make a 10 bean chilli with them (remember to soak them overnight before you cook them). Or cook them and then make your own salad.
