Interesting you mention the 1940's version. I'd forgotten that, but yes it is good. I want to see that one again too now.

It's good to see him as a baddie for a change - but the characters are all a bit one-dimensional. But I guess they are in the book, too...

It's an okay way to spend two hours - and there's lots of good male totty to ogle, so it has its perks!

I have seen it. It was a lot better than I was expecting but not a patch on the 1940's version. If you are a Ben Barnes fan though you should go and see it immediately.
