Such a spell binding film. First film I’ve been to in ages where the audience still remained seated until the very end of the credits. Casting was amazing, cinema was full and everyone was commenting on how great it was. Thoroughly recommend it!

Finally saw this last night, our local cinema is still showing it. So glad I saw it on the big screen, it’s really stayed with me. Amazing.

The film reminded me how good the Music is Queen was - so diverse, different, singable. Loved hearing the background about “We will Rock you.” But I thought Rami Malek was miscast. I cringed at all his non music acting. I thought Mary was well cast and liked her acting, liked Brian May - and recognised Peter Beale playing Roger Taylor. But I can see why critics didn’t like it - and for me, it would have been so much better if they had had a different lead.

Freshprincess - I also couldn’t shake the Peter Beale link either once I realised it was him, although thought he looked like a young Owen Wilson at first.

Brian May and Freddy were brilliant.

I also thought the crowd scene looked a little modern for the day.

Didn’t think it was homophobic. In those days, people didn’t publically come out. Growing up, the only gay person I recall was John Inman, who was very camp. George Michael was another gay musician who hid his sexuality.

Enjoyed the film and Live Aid.

Absolutely loved it.
I remember every second of Live Aid and this brought it all back, Queen were one of the stand out performances of the day.
I thought the film was excellent and after seeing several other Oscars nominated pics I think most of the critics talk tosh. For me this knocked spots of The Favourite.

I've seen it twice and loved it. Noticed it's showing again soon at our local independent cinema, quite tempted to see it a third time.

Saw this last yesterday and loved it
I know it wasn’t all historically accurate and there were some dubious bits (Bob Geldof at live aid)
But I found it really moving and bought back tons of memories

Finally got to see this and bloody loved it. The band were cast brilliantly.
I cried pretty much all the way through the live aid scenes. It really touched me.
I'm so glad I got to see it on the big screen, I don't think the music will have the same impact at home.

Did anyone else notice that before the film starts, just after the adverts etc, the voice that says, 'Hello....turn off your phones...' ended with, '....and escape from reality.' Or does it normally say that?

When you first saw them in their long wigs it was a bit spinal tap. but somehow overcame this, thankfully.

Because there was less celeb hype in the 70 s and 80 s - I don’t ever remember seeing an interview with Freddie/Queen - I only saw Freddie’s stage persona, but I always wondered if he was big hearted and gentle in person. So the 2018 film version of him seemed just right to me. He was obviously complex. I hope he wasn’t as lonely as the film portrayed him.

The critics are quite dense if they can’t see that this would be popular. Yes it’s linear and two dimensional and polarised, but that’s the poetic truth that illustrates the truth of the story, rather than the letter of the truth, which would have turned it into a documentary.

Loved it, though took me a while to get used to his teeth. Just seemed odd at first.
I thought the Live Aid scenes were brilliant. Agree that Brian May was uncanny.

I couldn't shake off Roger Taylor = Peter Beale though.

Loved, loved, loved it. will happily go again and it brought back some great memories of live aid.

Always believe public reviews rather than critics ones. I believe The guardian also said 'Les Miserables' was rubbish and would close within a month.... 30years on :)

I hadnt wanted to see this after the guardian review , however as more and more friends raved about it i eventually saw it.
Really enjoyable, great music.
freddie really well portrayed.

I thought there was a strong sense throughout the film that Freddie was led astray by "the gays" and should really have stayed with Mary. I cried at the end

I didn't get that at all. Remember that Freddie always said that Mary was the love of his life and none of his gay lovers could ever measure up to her. He was a complicated man.

I went to see the film with my 15-year old son and his girlfriend last weekend. She is a huge Queen fan, as am I. My son - not so much. He didn't even recognise that the opening song in the Live Aid set was Bohemian Rhapsody!

We saw it in iSense - Odeon's version of IMAX with a massive screen, higher definition projector than IMAX uses and excellent sound system. It was very loud, as Queen should be.

Is it accurate? Of course not. It has simplified events, altered the timeline and toned some things down. But you don't expect a film of someone's life to be accurate. It is a lot closer to the truth than Greatest Showman! (And the songs are better!)

I loved it. I doubt it will win many awards but I'll definitely be getting the DVD when it comes out. In the meantime, I'm working on persuading my wife to come with me so I can see it again! Great entertainment.

Saw this last night. Heard a lot of people saying "bring tissues" etc and tbh, I really didn't think it would get me. Well....it bloody did! I was properly crying, as were a lot of people in the cinema actually. It just hooks you in and I had goosebumps at the end. Nobody left until the end of the credits and one woman even told off this guy next to her because he started talking during the credits. She was genuinely cross...which was a bit awkward, but I did understand.

I don't think I'll be able to listen to We are the Champions again without choking up now.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was perfect, it just got me.

I think if you're going to watch it, you should watch it at the cinema though. I don't think it would have the same effect at home on the small screen.

I saw this yesterday and was blown away by it. I've been a Queen fan for nearly 40 years so didn't read any reviews because I wanted to judge it for myself. I thought it was brilliant. Rami captured Freddie brilliantly with his mannerisms, the way he moved his hands, licked his teeth - Freddie did that in interviews - his stage persona. So many times I thought it was John Deacon on the stage and Brian May was incredible. Roger Taylor missed the mark for me but I think that's because the real Roger Taylor was just so, so good looking in the 80s and the actor didn't do it for me.

I'm so glad they didn't dwell on the Freddie's ending because I was choked up from the beginning and the ending would have finished me off completely. Ending it on the high of Live Aid was absolutely the right thing to do.

I loved the guitar playing of the 20th Century Fox jingle and the Mike Myers reference.

I can't wait to see it again.

Just seen it. Bloody amazing film. The likeness of the band members is unbelievable. Totally teared up on the scene when he told the band he had aids 😢 and also when Mary in the cab was telling him people do love him...so poignant.

Hope there are some award nominations, Remi Maliks work on that film was just fabulous. Watched live aid when I got home.

Bohemian Rhapsody has topped the box office here in the US on its opening weekend. We say it in a big IMAX theatre and it was totally sold out all weekend. It was reviewed badly here too. The critics seem to miss the point that it is an entertaining film, not s hard hitting documentary.

Been listening to queens greatest hits too😃 I thought that the teeth were very distracting to begin with.

DH didn't get it but I found it all very upsetting. The isolation and loneliness, the man who didn't know who he was- extrovert or introvert, gay or bisexual? Persian or British?

I loved the cats. Reminded me of my house 😬😬😬with the decor and fag ends obviously

Saw it and loved it too. Only real criticism, apartment from timeline being off, was that the Live Aid crowd looked wrong. (I saw Live Aid live in 1985).

Its very interesting the parallels here - Bohemian Rhapsody - the song didn't - go down all that well with the critics, however the general public loved it. Same here with the film.
