It has been truly amazing ! I can not recommend it enough. I have gone from a constant stabbing fear in my guts, to a feeling of melting chocolate. I was drinking over a bottle of wine a night to try and dull it, I have not touched a drop since Thursday. I now wake up with waves of pleasure washing all over my body, and go to sleep within 10 minutes of lying down. I have not had any intrusive horrific disturbing thoughts. I have not had to actively do anything or try and structure my thoughts like I was told to in CBT. I was quite sceptical, and walked away from it thinking it wouldn't work. I have just had the first anxiety free 48 hours of my life and it is wonderful.

If you are considering this treatment, please please give it a try - it does work. There is hope !!!

I'm a qualified trained hypnotherapist and stress management coach in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Hypnotherapy is a modern, positive, proven technique that can be effective for many mind-body related conditions - panic attacks, anxiety, issues with food, alcohol, smoking and skin and gut related ailments, for example. Frontpaw is quite right about selecting your therapist; the Hypnotherapy Directory lists only those registered with the main recognised hypnotherapy organisations (there are scores of them!) so that's a great place to start. www.hypnotherapy-directory.org.uk/ Have a free phone chat first and see if you feel comfortable with the therapist. Rapport is key to effectiveness. My website is //www.nowflourish.net, if you want to find out more about hypnotherapy generally, or about me.

I too had a few sessions of hypnotherapy for anxiety and found it really relaxing and helped a lot but the therapist put her prices up and I couldn't afford to keep going back. I think I probably needed 3 or 4 more sessions but just ran out of money. So gutted about it as my old feelings have come back since DS2 was born and all GP wants to do is community "talk therapy" where I never see the same person twice and all they do is positive talking over what's bothering you while keeping a close eye on the clock... No help at all :(

So I too believe if you get the right therapist, hypnotherapy can work wonders IME.

I had hypnotherapy to quit smoking seven years ago, have not had a ciggerette since. I occasionally think 'oh I'd love a fag right now'but the memory of being addicted soon puts paid to that.
It's an amazing tool and one I would highly recommend.

Had a session of hypno today for phobia. Really good. Is it normal to feel so tired afterwards? Feel like I could sleep for a week.

Hello, I'm booked in for a session for anxiety which has possibly caused my 3 year headache. Ironically I'm now anxious about the session- the thought of not being in control of what i might think or say worries me.... Can anyone put me at ease of what the sessions are really like?

The sessions tend to be relaxing, you in a comfortable chair, the hypnotherapist nearby.

Mine had a calm kind voice, they want you to be relaxed and comfortable that is the main priority.

You will just have a gentle chat about your headaches and they will ask a few more questions to build up a picture about you and your life.

In mine, I then closed my eyes in the chair and she just spoke whilst working her magic at putting me in a very relaxed state, I don't really know what she said or remember it

BUT you don't have to talk, so don't worry about being out of control and saying things, that doesn't happen. It's the hypnotherapist talking to your subconscious.

I had 3 sessions and it had an amazing effect on my IBS

Deep breaths on your way there and good luck

Thank you for your reply! That has put me at ease- I'm sure I'll be fine once I get there, it was just the not knowing...

So happy to hear the amazing success stories. Wish it had worked for me. I paid £1000 and had 3 Skype sessions with Ali. The hypnotherapy itself wasn’t suitable for me at the time, but feeling desperate and quite vulnerable I was willing to try anything. Such a shame that I never saw any of the money back inspite of contacting Ali directly, who advised I had left it too late. For those needing Psychiatric care and are vulnerable and impressionable- I would use some caution.

I agree. After hypnosis you can feel really uplifted but if you are suffering from a mental health condition hypnotherapy may deal with the symptoms but doesn't really tackle the cause.
If you experience a 'trigger' later it's possible your anxiety or symptoms will return.
There isn't a magic quick fix cure for anxiety or any other mental health condition.
Initial reviews by people may be amazing but you need to research long term results before parting with that much money.

I was suffering from panic attacks and acute anxiety for many years. Ali is expensive but you get what you pay for.

He’s honestly the best in the business and has worked with major celebs.

Anyway, he’s totally cured me and couldn’t recommend him more.

I googled his website and it’s here - www.alicampbell.com

@Tabitoots No I was referring to the OP. The OP is copied word for word from the hypnotherapists website. It isn't a genuine thread. I highly doubt they ever had anxiety.

@Wasnt getting at you! Sorry! Just makes me so mad when people do that because it's totally taking advantage of people's desperation for help. All pissiness is aimed at the OP, I promise.

@nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut i know you posted this a couple of years ago, but i stumbled across this thread just now and found the whole thing interesting.

your comment was pretty funny - though i appreciate you are trying to help - but i think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick.

so imagine you are a hypnotherapist and someone you have done a session for posts a rave review about it on Mumsnet - a public forum …. in 2016 …. is it really that outrageous that you (or your social media / website team) might post the exact same review; word-for-word, on your website?

☺️

there is quite a lot of media coverage about ali campbell which is available online, and i think a couple of bbc documentaries have been done about him? i know there have been documentaries anyway …. you’d have to check if they were BBC ones
