Fasting / 5:2 diet

Has the 5:2 gone out of fashion..?

Since the summer I have been losing weight slowly and steadily at around 3 pounds per fortnight by cutting down/eating sensibly.
About 4 weeks ago I started to add in a water fast once a week (which suits me better than eating) and I want to add in a second one after Christmas.
This will then be a 5:2 diet, but I'm wondering if this is still 'rated' as the conversations and the trends seem to have moved on...
I would love to hear from other people on the 5:2. I am doing it to lose weight (another 20 pounds to go), but the other health benefits are an added bonus Grin

do you mean you don't eat anything on the fast days? I understood 5:2 as less than 500 calories on fast days and normale the rest of the time, if so, I think maybe it is a little out these days, at least, I started with the 5:2 but found that eating just a little bit was very hard, I prefer not to eat anything on fast days, much easier, so what I do is daily IF and occasionally and EF

I don't do calorie restriction at all though, that wrecks your metabolism and does not wok in the long run
