DP is going to sort one out, but he'd like to know more detail! Particularly with regards to recovery, as he's a self-employed carpenter/builder. If your DH/DP has had one, what was it like and how long were they off work for? Thanks!

DH had his beginning of December. A couple of days discomfort followed by about 3 weeks of low-level ache. All fine now. Due to provide a sample mid-March which should be interesting as it has to be delivered to our nearest hospital still warm Blush

I was done 4 months ago, and just had the all clear.

The operation is pretty pain free, but I ended up with a Doctor who was training. First half was absolutely fine, but moving to the left was very painful as the anaesthetic hadn't taken. Needed another 4 injections before the pain went. The doc also bust a blood vessel.

I was expecting to be back at work a couple of days later, but was off for 3 weeks as I developed haematoma on both sides that were as large as another ball. These faded over three weeks, but I'm now under urology and go back again this week. Still in lots of pain which varies, and the stitching of the blood vessel seems to be causing issues with a vessel that's pulled very tight.

I do a lot of sport, and that's knocked me back significantly. I am hoping the hospital will take a proper look and sort it out this time. Generally the operation is straight forward, but we know a friend who also took months to get back to normal. Most other blokes I've spoken to just had a few days discomfort, hence I was somewhat shocked to be in pain weeks later.

The doctors I have seen so far have just said, oops some men do get problems come back in 3 months. I've pushed to get back within 6 weeks, and just really want them to fix the issue and not just prod and poke and send me on my way with a bucket of pain killers.

At least I'm clear now though. Hee Hee.

Dh had one. He had it done by our GP and was home very quickly. He moved around a bit gingerly for about 24 hours and took the following day off work (desk job). No problems with it whatsoever.

the operation itself was fine - dh had his done at the GP (they do minor surgery there). He had an afternoon off work but was back the following morning (desk job but he was wiring on a building site 3 days afterwards) - he was sore & a bit bruised but not really painful. 6 months afterwards he developed a sperm granuloma though - which was slightly alarming (all fine now)
