Davina -Fit in 5?

Just wondering is anyone doing it? I'm going to start this morning after the school run. Was pretty active last year but between work and life, I'm only walking at most these days, used to jog 2-3 times a week and do 2-3 exercise classes. Thinking it might be a gentle way to get back into fitness.
Hoping there's others who have experience of it and fancy tracking over the next 5 weeks?

Thanks Love. More questions : I've watched the ab tutorial and I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right - back flat on the floor, using my abs to do the movements etc - but they don't hurt like they seem to hurt Davina so I'm definitely doing something wrong. Can anyone talk me through the basic movement so I can work out what in doing wrong please?

And I always do the stretches ( I like them ), loving the burpies, squats and planks. I do it in the afternoon after the school run ( gym in the mornings ).

I have been doing it for 2 weeks but I also go to the gym 4 times a week so doing it as a added extra to tone up. So far I have found it very good, most of it is manageable, first few times I was in pain the next day ( the abs workout left me with pains in muscles I never knew I had ), love the box fit and the 21 minute workout, I am seeing a difference already so I would recommend it.

I wouldn't recommend it to everyone though, I'm guessing it's a dad for people who have already lost a lot of weight and are already quite fit, I am using it to tone up rather than lose weight.

I'm on day 6 of week one and have a question - on the 5 week plan, why is a stretch not included after every workout session, only some? Surely you should end every workout session with a cool down? ?

I'm on week 3, day 6 ... I've been finding it tough but am managing to get up at 6.30 every morning and get going, following the plan! I've lost 9lbs so far and have also given up alcohol for Jan so that's helped, but am going out tomorrow for works drinks, so i am expecting some weight to go back on haha. My shape has definitely changed, my stomach is not so flabby and big which I am soooo happy about ;) I am going to carry on until I have done all 5 weeks and then start again with another 5 weeks, but doing the 10 minute sessions rather than the 7 minute sessions. Love to know how you're all getting on.

I started this earlier this week and just came online to see if anyone had the exercise plan in the box (the baby has lost it) so thanks for posting above! Finding it ok so far, I'm running on the days I'm not doing the dvd. 5 weeks until I return from mat leave so hoping it'll have some effect by then!

I did the hiit and boxing sections today with the extra 3 mins on each, 20 mins and I was wrecked! Tried to do the fat strip thing (sounds rather dubious) but it wasn't happening. Not really following the plan yet, but something's better than nothing. Let's see if I've any aches tomorrow

I have it. I'm doing a 5 week plan that's a little more intensive than the plan with a bit of running too. No rest days. I like the legs one. It's a killer for hamstrings.

Study the tutorials too. Ed's abs technique is brilliant but takes some effort to perfect. It should be hard.

Great - I've got weights. Was just asking as I actually prefer a workout with weights as I find them more effective. Thanks!

Yes they do. I have just bought a pair of 1kg weights for £5 from primark and picked up an exercise mat for £6 ( I have hard laminate flooring) X

Do the workouts involve weights?

Thanks. I had one where you took five steps one way, then jumped, five steps the other way, jump, five steps back then, yes, jump..... Ridiculous.

I have a big living room rug. I can clear away the coffee table and toys and use that.

Hi Cordelia....hmmm around the same amount of space, maybe a smidge less. I agree, I used to be hitting off the couch, right up at the TV, I think you can modify a bit to keep your space to around 4ftx4ft, smaller steps!

Yeah I was just thinking that - but I suppose at that point you'd be fit (haha - in my case the most active in gotten in the last 2 days is taking the photo of the plan!) I think you're generally looking at 14-21 mins a 2 workout session depending on whether you do the extra 3 mins. Or 21-30 if you're on a 3 session day. Pretty doable. If I take my experience of 1 session with 3 workouts, I have to say it goes very fast.

Do you need plenty of space to do it? That's been my downfall with some Dvds in the past.

Day 6 of week 5 looks like it might be painful. .....

Shnook · 26/01/2016 06:23

It does - thank you! Am liking that I can see rest days! And that there are lots of different workouts to keep it interesting. How long roughly in mins is the longest exercise combo in this plan?

Thanks Not. Hobbling sounds good - I like a bit of (mild) pain - then you know it's working! Would be interested to know if it's an everyday or a few times a week type-of-thing though - can't seem to find that info online?

Not butting in at all shnook There's a plan that came with it on the inside of the DVD case but I haven't studied it yet. I did that session Friday and my a*se is still aching😩 I am planning to do it again tomorrow but will probably wing it again, do as many as I can in the time I have. But yep 25 mins was enough to make me hobble...it must be halfway decent or I'm an indeed an old crock
