If you lived in a marginal Labour/Lib Dem constituency and you were and ardent Remainer wanting to stop Brexit asap who would you vote for?
Lib Dem have the perfect Brexit strategy - revoke and that's it. But they're unlikely to win a national majority or go into collation with a party that supports their Brexit strategy. Therefore, should I vote Labour who would have a referendum between a soft Brexit and Remain? I really don't want a soft Brexit either so I would gamble on Remain to win.
Opinions please!

@Mrsmaiselsmuff OK thank you for your help! So just to dummy proof your answer I should vote labour?

Sorry op for derailing your thread!

Frazzled2207 · 01/11/2019 14:21

In your situation I would probably vote for the guy you clearly trust

MsChatterbox · 01/11/2019 14:21

@Mrsmaiselsmuff or will Lisa actually be on the voting slip? Embarrassed at how much I don't know!

Honeyroar · 01/11/2019 14:26

Won't all this indecision between parties from remainers mean that Boris will win, as leavers will just vote for him, there's no indecision there?

Loletta · 01/11/2019 15:08

@MrsMaiselsMuff thanks I think I'll go with Labour and back Zeichner.
Don't know if cambridge is considered a marginal or not but we did have a Libdem MP up until a few years ago and given the strong Remain vote in Cambridge, it may well pass to the Libdem again. In other words, a vote for the Libdems wouldn't be waisted.
@MsChatterbox you're not hijacking the thread! I'm glad you're wondering the same and getting excellent advice from @MrsMaiselsMuff Smile

My Tory MP had 60% of the vote last time.
Is it even worth voting for the second place party (labour) in hopes that the turnout improves and enough people turn away, or should I just go with Lib Dem to increase their national vote share/send a message as Torys will probably (definitely) win anyway?

Peregrina · 02/11/2019 13:07

In the unlikely event that the LibDems won enough seats to form a Government, then yes, they could revoke because they would have a mandate to do so.
