Partners divorce

Hi all. Hope someone can help.

My partner received a letter from his soon to be ex wife solicitor explaining if he agrees to the terms etc on it then they can have a separation agreement then a divorce.

He's sent back his agreement to the terms and I was wondering if anyone knew what happens next?

When I got divorced my ex husband just printed one from the internet and got me to sign it then sign again a year later when it went to the sheriff court and paid something like 100 for it. So was done and dusted quickly.

I'm wondering if his will be different because he has a son with his ex wife or if it'll just be the same scenario as with mine.
