Hi I had a marac meeting in November following a domestic violence incident which brought social services into our lives. Just wondering if anyone’s been through the same and could help me. My address and ex partners name have been put on the marac register as high risk and im looking to know when this will be reviewed again or if when social services close the case it will be closed with that I can’t seem to get an answer from the social worker

Do you have an IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) who can tell you what the next steps are following the MARAC?

Naw I was Googling it to try see how it worked and saw I should have got one but I never have just dealt with the social worker as she referred it. I spoke to the social worker and she saying now it’s not actually a Marac plan even though it was reviewed at the meeting and put as high risk but but they haven’t actually set up a plan they’re just supporting social services, does any of that make any sense as I’m clueless and just like to know what’s happening

Write to the person who chaired the meeting and ask for clarification.

I hope you are getting the support you need to leave the relationship and heal.

The social workers beyond useless I’ve seen her twice since she took over in November and she was to do monthly visits, she cancels any time she’s supposed to have a meeting with me and anything I ask her she says she had to look into it and can never give actual answers. Another case conference now next week so I’ll see what comes from that
