I am writing a book set in a large primary school. The school has two classes per year group and is situated in an affluent suburb. I want it to be a name that implies it's a lovely school to work in but in reality it's quite the opposite. Thank you!

Parkvale
Havelock
Frimley
Mayfair
Ebbett Park

Based on schools where I grew up, 12000 miles away so not local to you :)

Let us know when it's out, think you have some guaranteed sales already! Good luck with it - always been an ambition of mine if I could get by a**e off the sofa!

Loving it Pippi! Yes, I would prefer it to be a name that is unlike any schools in my area as it's based on a true story!

Brooks grange
Oak grange
Does it have to be so different to your local primary schools? After all the reader isn't going to be local..... And actually your editor would prob help you if you felt it needed to be 100% fictitious
Grey primary?????

I thought Oak Manor sounded like a private school too! It is imperative the school in my book sounds like the name of a state school! I like something with Rose in it with the school emblem being a rose too but open to better suggestions! Thank you.

Oak Manor might be a bit private school Grin

Oaktree Manor? Better? Worse?

Beech Manor? Willow Manor?

Moorlands and Tilley Green good suggestions, thank you. Does Oak Manor sound too grand?!

Right, primary schools seem to end in things like Manor, Grange, Lane, House etc.

So, my suggestions...

Oak Manor
Moorlands
West Lake
Thornton Grange
Tilley Wood
Morton Abbey
