Just as per the title really. I know of one death,( age 66 with underlying health conditions) and 3 people who have had it, been unwell (like really unwell but at home) for about 7 weeks now, keep getting better then knocked back again.

Has anyone had it, and just mildly, a few days in bed and then bounced back?
I’ve resigned myself to getting it, but wondering what my chances are. Have small children so it’s worrying. Not sure how I would isolate from them or who would look after them if I couldn’t.
Thank you

I had it last month. I'm 30 and quite overweight, double dosed but my second jab was in May so had a long 7 month gap between jab and getting it... since had booster.

I was fine.. felt a bit rough but nothing extreme, mainly head cold symptoms and extreme sinus pain and pressure which was the worst part but paracetamol was taking the edge off, blocked nose also had a cough but Covonia and saline spray helped. I was never bed bound, wasn't particularly tired and was doing all my usual daily activities and running around after the kids. It lasted about 4 days, I've had colds last longer to be honest. Smell and taste loss was the worst part at Christmas.

Dp had it even milder. He was shivery and had a bad headache the day he got the positive lft but the next day he only had very mild cold symptoms - runny nose etc, lost his smell & taste for 3 days only. He spent his 10 day isolation doing jobs around the house, gardening and cutting the grass. Like w holiday from work.

I appreciate we were very lucky to mildly affected and not everyone will be. But many people even the vulnerable are mildly affected now...

@Sunshinegirl82

If you haven’t already had it I think there is now a pretty good chance that you never will. Levels are very low in the community and I’m pretty hopeful of a vaccine in the medium term. I don’t think catching it is an inevitability.

How wrong you were

I wish I could have an antibody test. My ds was so unwell at the end of February. He was living in student accommodation and going to clubs a lot. It started with upset stomach/sickness and a rash. He felt extremely tired. Then after three days he got worse. He almost called an ambulance at one point he felt so ill. He had all the symptoms, high temperature, sore throat, headache. He recovered but then four weeks later he got the cough and loss of taste and smell.
When he was ill I developed a bad headache which lasted all through the day and night for two days. Then after some codeine and a good rest it went. I was fine after that. Dd had a bad cough and temperature for a week or two then was fine. Dh had no symptoms. I do wonder if it was COVID but we’re treating it as a maybe and still being cautious

Well, whatever I've got.. I've still got. 3 weeks + now. Feel OK one day and the awful the next. Not sleeping well. Kind of fitful. Went to bed before 8pm last night. Woken up with thumping head and muscle aches this morning again and shivery. So fed up with it. Feels like it's not going away

I am sure we all had it over Christmas/beginning of January.

I am someone who gets colds regularly (if someone sneezes in the next road I seem to get it). Usually I get ill and it floors me.

This time I got ill then got better. Really couldn’t believe it.

Then it hit me and I was really ill.

I know 6 weeks after having it I found myself contemplating whether I could walk a few metres to a shop or whether my legs would collapse

I decided I wasn’t going to make it

I do drive but I thought you had to test yourself at the majority of test centres too? I didnt fancy trying to find my tonsils in my rear view mirror with 3 kids in the car ha x

I think it's everyone who doesn't drive having to test themselves and send it off. They'll test car drivers in the drive through centres, but there's nowhere for pedestrians to go as far as I'm aware, not around here anyway.

I did it myself so probably not lol. I had one done in hospital a few weeks ago so tried to copy how they did it.. But who knows! Are people in other countries having to test themselves?

@Jrobhatch29 was it a reliable tests because there is a lot of false negatives out there

@Cloudburstagain

Those of you who have had it, mildly, and had an antibody test result positive - how did you get an antibody test?

I paid for one - I really wanted to know whether I'd had it.

My DD's had a cough and temp the week before the schools closed, so mid March?? (I've forgotten!) Lasted just over a week. Very very dopey and lethargic for the first 2ish days. DH and I had sore throats and absolutely knackered, but could have been just a general bug.... My best friend had it at the same time, lost her voice and coughy. Without an antibody test though we will never know...... Is there any chance of the antibody tests being rolled out nationwide after front liners have had them??

So I think I had it in March. I mostly felt fatigued and that lasted on and off for about 10 days, then I was ok again.

Me and DP sometimes wonder. I think it was in Early April. 1yo had a high temperature and very sleepy for a few days. Somewhere around the same time, we all had bad stomachs, felt a bit under the weather and drained for a few days. I also had slight shortness of breath but I also have asthma. My chest felt tight for days and my reliever did nothing. I honestly bhave no idea if we did though.

That is exactly how I have been @absolutelyknackeredcow
Waiting on results

Mild symptoms here
Sore throat, clanging headache, mild temp for one day, asthma symptoms and tight chest and one incident of being not being able to breathe which lasted a couple of seconds - felt rubbish for about 5 days but worked at home through out.
Husband and kids same.
I'm almost certain - it was start of lockdown, live in London, work in Westminster (not a politician ) and it was about 7 days after I last was there.
Awaiting results on antibodies

Received my positive antibodies result today, tested positive for Covid on 30/4. Very pleased I’ve developed antibodies as it means I’m more likely to be immune.

I've had a positive antibody test. I had a week where I was coughing slightly, wheezy and needed my inhaler a bit more than usual, complete loss of taste, smell and appetite (and I never lose my appetite!!) and got tired easily. A week after I was completely recovered I got a week long headache that I couldn't shift. At no point would I have described myself as anything more than "under the weather" I still mowed the lawn and sorted out my wardrobe and kitchen cupboards.

Interestingly several of my closest work colleagues had exactly the same pattern of symptoms including the stubborn headache a week after it appeared to be over.

Mid 30s, female, no underlying conditions, white, normal weight. Never tested but had cough, tiredness and general feeling rubbish for a few days as schools closed in March. Nothing so bad I couldn’t look after my children and we figured that with a sick preschooler at the same time the chances of the other two family members not already having been exposed were minimal anyway. Had a dry cough and slight breathlessness for a few weeks afterwards (bit like how I imagine asthma might feel but I’ve never been asthmatic) and now entirely back to normal. Never needed medical help.

Sick preschooler had a temperature, cough and streaming eyes for a couple of days then completely fine. Other DC (the asthmatic one) had no symptoms whatsoever and neither did my DH who normally really suffers with colds and is prone to post viral wheeze. No guarantee they actually caught whatever I had of course.
