If you live abroad, what’s your countries slogan?

So here we have obviously had ‘stay home, protect the NHS, save lives’

I just wondered if other countries have this and if so what is it??

In out house my 3 yo DS had obviously heard a lot of the "stay safe!" message.

So now, whenever we're on our walks and he chats to someone he'll say

"hiya, y'aright? Ok bye! Stay safe, don't fall over!"

Because obviously to him, being safe is not falling over Grin😭

Sometimes he also tells people to wash their hands!

I like our slogan in Germany:

'Bring Corona nicht zur Oma'
(Don't take Corona to granny)

but I thought that came from Apotheken (pharmacies) partnering with the Bild newspaper,
not from Merkel / the government

@MrsTerryPratchett I will think Title of your sex tape now every time I go past a billboard saying 'Stop The Spread.'

@MrsTerryPratchett me too Grin we've been watching re-runs on Netflix, I really want to have the opportunity to use it IRL but as I'm not really speaking to anyone at the moment the opportunity hasn't arisen yet!

Switzerland, unsurprisingly. The government's most widely used slogan is:

BLEIBEN SIE JETZT ZUHAUSE. RETTEN SIE LEBEN.

("Stay home now. Save lives." - and, yes, in all caps.)

The home secretary stating "bleiben sie zuhause" (stay home) in French-accented German has also gone pretty viral without the additions around here.

A lot of the official communications around here revolve around the central notion of staying put and putting your life on hold to some extent being heroic on a way. No idea if it actually works - surely the thought of sitting on your backside runs counter to any image of superheroism that may have been instilled into us from childhood. But I'm sure they've had some good psychologists on that one. Smile

Sweden doesn't have one, but we do have lots of "Håll avstånd" signs, which just means keep your distance.

Take care of each other but dont touch each other - works better in Norwegian where there is a single word different between the first and last half of the sentence

Tar være på hverandre men ikke tar på hverandre

It's bloody tedious though isn't it. Every bloody press conference this gets trotted out.

Yes, we've got the message thanks!!

Here in Canada we have had 'Stay Safe. Stay Home' and for a while 'Plank the Curve'
Trudeau also famously said that masks could prevent people from 'Speaking Moistly'
Which led to many memes and this funny video. m.youtube.com/watch?v=eySDeBdqxGY

Together, we fight the virus! (Hong Kong)

Bit silly as social distancing is key to the policy...so not exactly "together" are we Wink

I’m not sure if Japan has a slogan as such but all the posters in my neighbourhood say (in Japanese) “Wash your hands, gargle, stay home”.

The Japanese are obsessed with gargling 🤷🏼‍♀️

@mrsterrypratchet I agree, I don't think where I am has a slogan, but we also have a functional response to the crisis and a health system that works.

If we did have one, it would probably be "just don't be a dick".

I liked Trudeau when Canadians were misbehaving, "Enough is enough. Go home and stay home."

I think slogans are ridiculous. Governments who believe their citizens are adults don't have slogans as such. They have information. They have Health Ministers giving lengthy, informative press conferences weekly to update people. Only idiots need slogans. And idiots don't listen anyway.

Quédate en casa - stay at home in Spanish.

Though the phased transition to a 'new normal' is beginning.
