No flour anywhere here but we have a big mill up the road and they have put aside some for me to collect when I'm walking past later. They've left it "hidden" so that I can retrieve it. Never imagined I'd be surreptitiously picking up a stash of coveted white powder.

I can get flour mo problem but it's pasta and tinned stuff mostly that's ransacked. I have a reccuring slot with ASDA which has been a godsend

further to my earlier post,
my DH could not find any hot cross buns

My DH has gone out once a week to get shopping, and we have had no difficulty in getting food.
Occassionally there have been some specific items unavailable (such as toilet rolls the first week), but otherwise no problem.
Fresh food has always been available in our area, because few people stockpile fresh food because it does not keep.

My local Co-op didn't have tins, butter, eggs or flour. I couldn't get lemon either but that's happens from time to time anyway. Also it seems they had sold out their Easter eggs.

Sainsbury's delivery has almost everything last week.

No eggs or yeast here.Flour turns up now and then so we have no bread or wholemeal flour now but enough plain and some self raising.
Will be joining those making sour dough bread soon when my yeast runs out.
Amazing how many more people are baking and bread making that didn't before.

My local Tesco metro had never been so well stocked. The big Asda close by is like something from an apocalypse film - no flour, no sugar, no eggs, no pasta, no rice, tin aisle are bare, very little milk, no soap, very little choice for cleaning products, no paracetamol, no nappies. Big queues to get in both.

Scotland (big city).

Cashier told me to avoid the first bit of time before opening. Once they've let in the initial batch of people at the front of the queue, if you're not in that batch, you then have to wait until they've finished their shopping before the one out/one in thing starts.

My local supermarket is fully stocked ish apart from liquid soap. You can buy bars of soap though. I’ve not checked for flour - don’t bake. Tinned foods a tad sparse. And limited meat products - I just vary what I would normally get.

Do you think the quiet times are erratic now or is there an obvious best day/time to go?

Our Morrison's has plenty of fresh stuff but still no pasta, rice, baking supplies or beans and very little in the way of tinned food or cleaning stuff. However, the staff and most other customers are lovely and they're doing their best.

I think it's important to pick a slower time to go, too.
Last Friday afternoon it took a friend over 40 minutes to even get in the door at Sainsbury's but I waited until late Saturday afternoon and walked straight in. It was very civilised inside, too and I got everything I needed.

There was a week or two round our way when they were all bare, but starting to get back to normal and you can always find something if you’re not too fussy.

Still very low on toiletries (especially any kind of soap), but strangely awash with toilet paper - we never seemed to get hit with that shortage.

My local Sainsbury’s has stock, hardly any pasta, rice, flour, frozen veg, canned goods and some fresh produce items. I didn’t go to every aisle yesterday but they seemed to have lots of cheese/cold meats/ready meals/crisps/biscuits/veg/salad and fruit.

Pretty much been able to get everything. Anything I can’t get from the big supermarkets I get from the smaller locals even antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser!

Everything fine here. I avoid the popular local supermarket though as it's rammed and trolleys backing up to the main road. The less popular supermarket is great. Went this morning and also bought lots of bedding plants for my pots Grin nice afternoon planned.

.
The issue here is still lack of delivery slots. It’s ridiculous. I’ve contacted every single company to explain health issues, have the virus, there’s no one to ask. Plus carrying shopping for a week for 5 is impossible even just the basics.

Basically tough shit. Even discharge letter, letter from gp, urology, mh etc. Tough shit. I really thought by being slots would be available.

Instead we are having to get takeaways. It’s ridiculous.

Flour is out of stock everywhere
Article about it on BBC site. They are milling loads more than normal and able to bulk supply bread companies etc but don't have capacity on the packaging lines to significantly increase the supply of small retail size flour packs for supermarkets
