"We're looking at things to make people better"

Trump is on live again now, gibbering about people dying, getting better, dying again. Beautiful deaths. The best. Medicine. America. Virus. Horrible virus.

I think this thread is showing that the old adage about humour not surviving the internet is pretty spot on ...

We've had some pretty big vaccines in the past. I give you polio for starters. How would you have liked to have spent the rest of your life in a metal lung?

Also, do you always take everything so literally?

Absolutely @Bluntness100 - hopefully both treatments and a vaccine will be available sooner than we could have hoped. Given that surely every suitable scientific research team around the world will be prioritising this. Just hope Trump can be stopped from sticking his oar in when it actually emerges.

Southampton university is trialing now, today, a new drug specifically for asthma and COPD patients. They're using it on people tested positive for Corona virus.

Could agree more with you. Polio, Mumps, Rubella, German teases. All great.

But not Trump level great. Oh no.

There are apparantly sixty seven treatments and vaccines now moving into human trial stage globally.

It’s likely we will have a treatment soon, as it seems authorities will need to decide whether to give patients who are going to die it or not, or just let them die. So seems sensible they give them the treatment drugs.

As always though prevention is better than cure so a vaccine is the ultimate aim.

Everybody's working on a vaccine.

It'll be like the busses when they finally make it.

Oh god - he's just been asked if most people would condemn the use of the term "Kung Flu" when referring to the virus

Sorry, I had to be first ...

I think that's the size of it?
