Conception

Oh no, I've done it all wrong - so confusing.

We are trying to conceive dc3.

This is the first time I have tried all the fertility calendar things, and I thought it said that I would ovulate around 5-7 May. So we dutifully did the deed a few times before then and on the 6th. But not since.

Now getting period-like cramps and googling, have realised am prob ovulating NOW.

Does this make sense? That would be 2.5 weeks after first day of last period. But I do have a 30 day cycle.

I don';t understand all the abbreviations and technical stuff. Are the first few months getting to know your body?

Or should I just be having sex now (well, not now but...) just in case? Help! It seems so complicated.

Don't forget you need a thermom that charts to 2 decimal places.

Last period was 22nd April. I am pretty regular.
Luteal phase (had to google it). No idea.

I think, given we have had two with no real problems, we will try the 'have lots of sex' method first (with a eye on 'ovulation' cramps, and perhaps buying some batteries for the thermometer to chart temp). Dh will be happy to have lots of sex I am sure (especially as we have only just started trying - and he will think the pressure is off now for this month ....)

Thanks for all your help!

hi adair what was the date of your last period? is your cycle regular?

do you have any idea what your luteal phase is?

if its the standard 14 days you will probably ov around day 16. but lp can vary.

the calanders can work well, but you have to have a very regular cycle.

my dp would only have sex on the specific days shown on one of these calenders. i tried to explain that i know when i am ovulating due to changes in cm etc. if i was to go by the calander i would need to have sex on cd 13-16, but i know that i ov on day 12 of this cycle and day 14 of the last.

have you tried charting your temp?

Your best bet is to just have sex every other day.

Hi - you could be ovulating now or it could possibly be implantation cramps? whichever why not just have sex just to be sure anyway?? Can't hurt!
