Hi, Is it normal to have only 1 day bleeding and very light (used to be 6 days previously)

I wouldn't be too worried - just keep an eye on your cycle and if after another month or 2 things aren't back to normal then you could always make an appointment to see the GP. It may also just be the natural progression of things - our bodies changing as we get older

I keep track of my periods by making a note in my diary on the day my period starts e.g P29 (ie Period started, last one 29 days ago) - makes me laugh when I see midwife and get the question "Are you sure of your dates?"

Hello there, Mummy369, many thanks for your comments that's really reassuring. Yes I'm having kind of hectic and stressful life which may explain light period... yes you are right here saying that we need explanations just for peace of mind.

If it's an Implantation bleed, you wouldn't get a positive pregnany test for a couple of weeks yet. As EldonAve says, pee on a stick in the morning - your urine is more concentrated then - but you need to wait until after your period is normally due (and 2-3 days extra, too).

There could be environmental factors - have you been moving house or been through any kind of emotional upheaval recently? Have you been on holiday very recently to somewhere with a vastly different climate to the UK? i.e. very hot or very cold..

Other than that, yes, it IS normal to have a very light period one month. But we're only human and we like to delve into the reasons behind everything and need explanations for our own peace of mind! I would be more worried if your bleeding had become erratic and heavier/lasted longer than usual.
