Just tested this morning and it says - pregnant!! I don't believe it for a second I've been trying nearly 4 years and never even been a tiny bit pregnant and only had sex once this month. Help me please, I mean could it be a dodgy batch

Clearblue said they'd had no complaints so far, but that it is only 99% accurate, what's the chance of it being that 1%.

Sorry if i'm not making much sense but i can hardly breath never mind type!!

Wow Fantastic! Congratulations!!!

Don't worry about mild cramping, it happens in early pregnancy.

Thanks everyone, I have started taking a folic acid multi-vitamin and i stopped taking the painkillers 4 days ago so I'm pretty sure its not them causing the bfps (not that anywhere said they did anyway )

I'm also pretty sure it's not a cyst causing it either, as i did a pregnancy test last month and it was bfn so I'm sure it would have shown something then.

Deary me, my mind is still working over time, its driving me crazy

I have dreamed and dreamed about getting a bfp for so long, I never thought i'd spend the whole time trying to disprove it!!!

I did 13 tests when this happenned to me (tho not waiting as long as you) - I've still got them (washed!) as I can't bear to part with them as they meant so much to me at the time. Poor ds2 only got 2 tests done on him!

give yourself time, it's normal to be in denial for a while esp after what you have been through. Take it one day at a time. I'm sure you know this but I would lay off any medication for now and start the folic acid if not already doing so (you have probably been on it for a long time I'm sure!)

Wow thanks everyone I cannot believe the response I have recieved, I feel very humbled

Quick update, I've now done a total of 9 pregnancy tests (I know) and there all BFP!! and getting stronger by the day, infact today's test was stronger than the control line.

It has been a very hard weekend for me though, I was in complete denial that I might actually be pregnant and spent the entire weekend scouring the internet for info on false positives. I convinced myself that the bfp's were caused by a cyst or some painkillers I was on

I feel abit better about it today though, and actually believe I might be pregnant

After years of dreaming about this, it's nothing like I expected, I more or less feel the same as I have done every other month and I am still in denial that this could have possibly happened to me.

Anyway I have a Doctors appointment today for a blood test, so maybe I'll start to believe it soon.

Thanks again for all your amazingly kind replies, and I will keep you posted x

I am crying too - I saw your post only the other day on the ttc too long thread and recognised your name ... the thought of you wandering round with your tests with a big shocked grin brings back so many memories of when I got my first bfp after ttc for 12 mths.... I am so blurry eyed and happy for someone I had never heard of til a few days ago I think DH wants me to see a doctor!!

Enjoy your pregnancy 1wish (and print this thread ) x

Congrats 1wish hope you have a trouble free pregnancy, funny enough was watching a prog on IVF today, a couple had been through the whole process and retrieved eggs etc. They then couldn't implant the embryo because of hyperstimulation, she was waiting for next AF to implant and got a BFP. Very heartwarming.

Just read this thread - what an amazing story - and also read 1wish's posts on the "You know when you've been TTCing too long when..." thread.

My friend was trying for 2 years with no success then fell pregnant just before she was due to start fertility treatment. Its so strange that conception can be affected by the stress of TTC - bloody frustrating that you can;t 'fool' your mind/body into thinking you've 'given up' when you haven't actually given up.

Congratulations 1wish - I'm so happy for you. Lots of luck for your pregnancy.

1wish - so pleased for you. Something similar happened to us. I'd been ill in my 20s with endometriosis and told we'd have difficulty conceiving even with IVF. We'd tried clomid and everything in between and then 2 weeks before we started IVF I found I was pregnant with DS1. I felt massively crampy for ages and kept expecting my period to start.

And then out of the blue 4 months after he was born, I found out I was pregnant with DD and then when she was 2.5 we found I was pregnant with DS2 (after 9 months of trying). He is now 2 years old.

In Jan, without trying at all I fell unexpectedly pregnant with DC4. That didn't have a happy outcome (he died when I was nearly 21 weeks pregnant a couple of months ago ) but we have been hugely blessed (more so than we could have hoped). Seven years ago if you had told me we'd be in this position I'd have said you were mad!

I really, really hope all goes well for you. CONGRATS!!

x
