Early detection tests - how early?

Does anyone have experience of using these 10mIU 'early detection' tests (see pic)? They claim to be effective for up to 6 days before missed period, but reviews are hit and miss.

I'm coming up to 2 days before period due, and still testing negative. I know the simple answer is: I'm not pregnant. But I really FEEL I am - not at all scientific I know - as I'm having all the same symptoms I had the first time, like nausea, extreme tiredness, and also lower back pain a week ago.

Patience is clearly not a virtue of mine. While I wait for my period or a positive test, can someone please enlighten me on how early these tests detected pregnancy for them?

@momo01 The One Step ovulation tests are good in my experience.

It may be that you have already ovulated, just late, so if you have conceived it’s too early to tell by testing. If you haven’t ovulated yet, it may well happen soon- when it does happen is unlikely to be linked to when you would have been due to ovulate next time. So if you have got plenty of the cheap tests, you could start testing straight away.

Thank you @MajorFaffington I've not tried OPKs, but been looking at these (see pic) One Step (again!) tests for next month. I'm leaning towards something cheap and cheerful, as I'm prone to over-testing.

Assuming I skip AF this month for some reason, should I start testing with OPKs 2 weeks after when AF would've started, assuming my normal cycle?

I am late and have used a first response early detective kit this morning. I am really disheartened cos got a negative. These tests claim to be even more sensitive. Wondering how sensitive they really! I’m really hoping for a positive and trying to not retest for a few day (unless period arrives before!)

Similar happened to me.

I had always had pretty irregular periods but once they came back when my DD was about 13 months ish they seemed to be every 35 days for a while.

Then I started thinking about TTC and they went wild 🤣 The month I conceived would have been a 42 day cycle.

Have you tried OPKs?

If I'm not pregnant, this is going to make predicting my next ovulation very tricky 🤔

Not sure if anyone is still following - it's now been 33 days since the first day of my last period. Still no period. Still tested negative this morning with One Step. Since period came back after DD in May (didn't have a period for a year, due to breastfeeding and DD not being a good eater) they've been quite regular, around 30 days.

The answer is to be patient I know... but what's going on?

Both times I got BFP I used these and worked a treat. Most recent BFP I got at faint line from 9dpo confirmed with a clearblue on 11dpo

I'm certain I had a one-sided cramp too, around a week after ovulation! But I guess it could've been just a standard issue cramp

I should add that I was sure I had implanted at about 7dpo in my first pregnancy, as I had one sided cramps, but test was still negative at 12dpo.

When I was pregnant with my first, I tested with one of these at 12dpo (ish) and there was no line whatsoever. I thought I was out as they claim to be really sensitive.

I then tested at about 15dpo once my period was late and got good a good strong line on a Sainsbury’s test and a positive Clearblue digital (neither of which purport to be particularly sensitive) but it was still very faint on the One Step.

In my current pregnancy I was somehow incredibly restrained and didn’t test until my period was late and got a decent line on a One Step at about 16dpo.

So I reckon that they aren’t massively sensitive but can also vary by batch. Obviously when you implant will have an effect too as PP has said.

It's now the day after my period is due. I've not yet taken a test today - I've been 'banned' for a couple of days, as apparently I've been obsessing too much!

I got a dark positive from one of those at 12dpo. I implanted at 5dpo and had symptoms from 9dpo.

I have done allot of research regarding ttc (driving myself crazy with it lol)

This is what I have leaned. The whole 6 days before your missed period is false advertising I think.
Basically yes you can test that early, only if you ovulate and implant at a certain time.

Every woman ovulates and implants at different points. You can only get a positive pregnancy test 2 days (realistically) after you have implanted.

Implantation happens usually between 6-12dpo but can be longer.
My friend didn't implant until 16dpo and got her bfp at 18dpo (well after her missed period).

If you implant at 6dpo then you can get a positive test 7-8dpo (thats how women get early bfps).

It all depends on your body. The tww is soooooo hard!! it is like a form of torture LOL.

Best rule to follow is, you're not out until the dreaded AF shows.
