How do you commiserate the arrival of AF? (Lighthearted)

Hello everyone, new around these parts Grin

To introduce myself....
29
9 months married
TTC #1

Using Natural Cycles since Implanon out in Oct, now also using Flo as NC doesn't seem to be very accurate.

Officially "trying" from later this month, but had a "scare" two months ago and was really sad to get a BFN. In Dec did end up DTD 2 days before ov so was hopeful for a not entirely planned BFP this month... but no, AF arrived today.

Feeling ok as we haven't properly tried yet and timing for BFP this month would have been difficult with events planned in Sept, but it feels like such a let down after all of the excitement/nerves of the 2ww doesn't it?

So my question, what do you do to commiserate the arrival of AF? I am thinking a lovely mid-dog walk pub stop and then cracking open the double size bottle of red we have leftover from xmas with our dinner. Might as well be some positives!

I know what AF refers to, but can someone tell me what it stands for, please?

I don't drink so no 🍷 but I always liked to go with eating Camembert and buying myself a present! 😊

Pate followed by a rare steak and McFlurry for dessert... all washed down with at least a bottle of prosecco Wink Grin

Oh a hot bath sounds AMAZING! That's one of the things I miss most in the tww - I know lots of women carry on anyway but I like it HOT hot and I know that's not good! Hmmm. Good thread. Making me almost (not quite though) look forward to AF. Think I'll add chocolate into the AF party too - been trying to go sugar free since the new year.

If af shows up this month I have a lovely trip away planned and I will look forward to some delicious cocktails. That may be a bit ott for every other month Though. I think most of them will involve wine. Wine

I love some of the responses on here, what a good way to stay positive !! I’m right there with the scalding hot bath and vino! Wine
I defiantly agree @Merrz it’s one step closer to another chance and another cycle.. !

Greekcats the day af shows up is tough! I try to thing of it as new cycle, new chance, start again and try something different this cycle rather than the end

@surreygirl1987 loving your AF party idea Grin

Feeling a little sadder now, but it's just the beginning. Chin up!

Great thread idea! If i get bfns I'll stock up with brie and camembert and have my own AF party 😂

That sounds like a good way to deal with it to me! Definitely crack open the wine.
I do totally feel exercise helps with af, seems to make it last a bit shorter and helps massively with cramps.

Think "another AF is another cycle closer to my BFP"
Eat Brie
Drink, drink, drink
Think how I am lucky I could plan air travel, if I so wanted
Drink a little more
Perhaps have some feta
(And, finally, give in and allow myself a couple of hours feeling sad. AF you utter bitch)

Eat pate and soft cheeses, have a scaldingly hot bath and open the vino, all the things I'd have to give up!

Is call AF a c* and open the Wine

That sounds like a plan! Two reasons, some mild exercise helps with cramps, fresh air helps clear your head, plus doggie cuddles and a lovely pub lunch and wine is winner winner in my books! I love dog walking anyway. Plus if never have got through this journey without some wine when Af arrives. Enjoy xx
