OPK queens - have I missed my LH spike?!

Hi everyone,

Currently on my first cycle and trying to chart my ovulation... does this to experienced eyes looks as though I may have missed my spike?

Had the darkest result since I started TTC yesterday morning and tests have got progressively lighter since... to your experienced eyes could this be the tail end of my spike or just a fluke? I know you can't class the test as a positive unless it is as dark as the control line, but apart from this one mine have been barely visible!

Help save me from this confusion please :( xx

Yes 12-36 hours usually but can be a bit longer. I’m usually nearer the 36 hour mark. Had my positive last Weds pm and ov’d on Friday.

I don’t think they always photograph well but if they are the same colour IRL, then that is a positive. I tend to ovulate around 24/36 hours afterwards but it can be as soon as 12 hours.

Ok, thank you @Pibbee will try another one around 1pm. Think the picture doesn't show it fully but in the flesh both lines are the same colour - hopefully test line will be darker than by this afternoon! Would be over the moon to get my spike later today - would mean plenty of time to try to make it happen without work over the weekend 😂 xxx

It might just be the pic, but I’d say that looks almost positive but not quite so I’d try another one in a few hours if you can

Finally got my positive! It really is obvious! Is it correct should ovulate in the next 12-34 hours? I did a test last night at around 11 and it was darker than others but certainly not as clear as this! Xx

@FuzzyOwl wow that is a strong positive! Fingers crossed mine will show up soon 😂 will just keep testing and DTD and fingers crossed. It's amazing to hear they've worked so well for you! 💕

Here is one of my positive tests. I don’t think everyone gets such strong positives but for me, they are really obvious once positive. I’ve also got pregnant on three (out of five) occasions by only having sex the day or day after my first positive test.

Not really. I think the advice is to do these tests in the afternoon and evenings (not mornings basically) and ideally to allow a minimum of four hours in between going to the loo.

@FuzzyOwl thank you, I'm so scared of missing my spike! 😂 can I ask did you have differed results/ clearer if you weren't super hydrated? Someone said the stronger your wee is the clearer the result 😂

I’ve used those tests in the past with great results. For me, I tend to get 2.5 or three days of positives but it is quite normal to have days with medium strength lines that then go to nothing. The line does not always necessarily get darker as you get closer to your LH. When they are positive, there has never been any doubt for me and I’ve had one just a few hours after a test that barely had a line. Good luck.

Ahhh thank you :) I'm becoming a bit obsessed 😂 Its only my second cycle and I'm still not sure how regular I'll be after having problems coming off the pill, but both ovia and clue suggested that I should be at my most fertile around now - so I'm frantically testing and forcing my man flu riddled husband to TTD 😂

What cycle day are you on? You are testing fairly frequently so unlikely you have missed it unless it was overnight. More likely that you just haven’t started the LH surge yet... Keep going with them! :)
