Hi ladies.
Hope your all doing well. Feel like ive missed so much.

So i had my scan and got my results. The only thung they could find was a fibroid of 3cm but it doesnt warrent all the bleeding ive had. I was give another prescription of meds to take to get me over my holiday as they helped to slow the bleeding right down but now im back ive to stop taking them and see what happens....well what is happening is 2 days off them and the bleeding is starting again slowly but building up. The doc said that once the tablets were stopped if the bleeding started again then they would refer me to a gynocologist as there must be another reason for it so at the min im still totally clueless as to whats happening. 15 weeks down the line and still no e the wiser Confused xx

I also had to wake him for feeds when he was unwell, now we call him the milk monster as he's always ready for a feed!!! Are you managing to keep up with the expressing or are you combi feeding? Have you got good breastfeeding support services in your area? Mine have been invaluable so definitely seek out what helps available! Do they have names yet? How are you now, are you recovering ok from your ordeal. I'm having a debrief for birth trauma (shoulder dystocia) are you getting that, you should definitely at least be offered for the chance to talk things through xx

when we were in hospital i tried expressing an couldnt get any out. Matthew was also really lethargic an couldn't feed from breast bottle or cup so had to have a nasogastric feeding tube for a few days until he got a bit better. He had to have formula as I wasn't producing enough milk an they also wanted to keep a close eye on exactly how much he was getting. Once I got home though I was suddenly able to express so much better an was able to build up my supply. Think it was been out of the hospital environment an him been better an going to the breast more.

Hi lovelies,
So good to hear from you Violet
Did you have to do a lot of expressing to get your milk up to wean him off formula?
After my blood transfusions my milk stopped, so it's taking me ages to build my supply back up, and the twins are too small to put the effort in at the moment. They are too sleepy! We have to set alarms to wake them for feeds so they don't really get on well on the breast, I was told they have to have either expressed breast milk or formula so that we can track the amounts that they are eating.

I am pretty exhausted as since Monday we have both babies home with us. I am so glad to see the back of SCBU, but it's quite the challenge juggling two babies!!
Will be gutted on Monday when DH goes back to work!

Nicky - any news?

Duck how are you feeling? Did you find out what you're having in the end?
xx

Just discovered this new thread today! So much news to catch up on! Have a slightly different username as had to sign up again as couldn't remember my password.

Mrs Huge congratulations on the birth of your boys. I checked in today specifically to see if you had had them yet. What you went through sounds absolutely horrific and I'm so glad that you and your boys are doing well. It must have been a nightmare to go through but fingers crossed you are all through the worst of it now and can start to get on with enjoying your beautiful little family. Hope twin 1's scan went ok and he is now in the clear!! Have they got their names yet?

Nicky good luck for your scan, when are you having it again? I hope that it finds out what the problem is and its something that can be fixed and isn't the menopause. Either way hope you have some clarity soon! The bleeding sounds horrendous and not normal at all. How are the new tablets working, have they stopped/reduced the bleeding?

Duck Congratulations on the positive 20 week scan. Glad your little one is doing well! Did you decide not to find out the gender then? If I have another (hopefully in a couple of years) then I don't think I will find out next time. So sorry to hear you have been having a hard time with your OH. Hope that you have managed to talk and that he is being more supportive now? Just take it a day at a time and keep talking to him and venting on here. Is your mum been a good real life support?!

We are fine, Matthew has been doing really well, he's been gaining weight at each weigh in, which have been twice weekly up until two weeks ago when we were discharged from the midwifes at 5 weeks old. He now weighs 9lb11oz and is finally fully breastfed. Since we were readmitted to hospital with the 18% weightloss we had been topping up with formula six times a day and have now gradually phased that out. He had his tongue tie snipped two weeks ago and has been feeding much better since then, although I'm still finding it painful its no where near as bad as it once was.

Only problem we are having now is with constipation. He went six days without a dirty nappy last week and I took him to the doctors after 4 days, he said if he hasn't gone by seven days take him to A and E, he went on the 6th day. But then did the exact same thing again and today is now day 6 of no bowel movements, got the health visitor tomorrow so if he doesn't go I will ask her if I should get him a GP appointment tomorrow or take to A and E!!

Flipping heck Nicky I can't believe how much you've been bleeding!!

So my update I'll do in bullet points else I will be here all day:

Induction started at 9am on Monday morning.
I was in labour for 30 hours.
I was rushed in to theatre just as I started pushing.
I delivered twin 1, and of the 20 people in the theatre, about 6/7 of them disappeared to be with him.
My husbands hand went completely limp and there was no crying.
I was told to start pushing twin 2, which I found absolutely impossible- but I got there. I kept asking about twin 1 but they wouldn't tell me anything!
Afterwards I pretty much passed out.
I woke up the next day with blood going in to me and a bag of wee next to me.
There was only one baby in the room with me and a nurse was holding him.
I was in and out of consciousness.
My twin 1 was born not breathing. He was rushed to another hospital for immediate treatment of brain damage. My husband went with him.
I had almost died! It was absolutely horrific!
The following few days were physical and emotional hell. I thought I would completely fall apart.
But my twin 1 started the brain damage prevention/fast response treatment and responded really well. 4 days later (yesterday) he was transferred back to the same hospital as me, and I was able to meet him and kiss him and reunite my baby boys. Today, me and twin 2 are being discharged.
Twin 1 will stay in SCBU and has to have 1 more MRI scan in order to totally rule out brain damage - we are hoping he will be able to join us at home in a week or so!
It's been a nightmare. But I am sat here holding my beautiful baby, after having had some lovely cuddles with his brother in SCBU. Life is good..

Hi ladies
How are you doing???

duck hows things????

mrs have them beautiful babies arrived yet????

I ended up back at doctors last monday and they changed my meds again. The doc explained that sending me to hospital for a scan there and then would be no good as i hve to have an internal scan and whilst im bleeding so much they wouldnt be able to see anything other than blood so therefore wasting time.....the bleeding has slowed down and no clots size of golf balls anymore....altho im still bleeding its not half as bad i still am which is so annoying. I still have a week tomorrow to go for my.scan so hopefully things will be ok altho by then i will of been bleeding for a solid 12 weeks xx

Good luck mrs hope you don't have to wait too long...

So I woke up today and I had had a bad bleed to the point it had come through my pj's Sad...never in my life has this happened.....I changed and then couple of hours later needed to change again and then again couple of hours and I needed to again....I have just arrived at Mil and I've gone to the toilet and cried so much....I'm scared now and I've had enough. ...clearly the medication isn't working so I'm going to ring the doctors first thing and demand an appointment with my doc and she's going to have to do something.....I can't even go out without worrying that I've to change within an hour......oh and also I've got serious bad period pain.....not suffered with period pain since I was a teenager. My scan is still 2 weeks away and I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks and really don't fancy walking round in fear that I'm going to keep flooding all day xx

Hi lovely ladies,
So I wrote quite a lengthy reply on this thread a couple of days ago but obviously I didn't post it properly!

I am fine thanks. The week has gone fairly quickly and I'm on home release for the day today, to go back at half 6 ish tonight.

Induction will be tomorrow morning, but I've been warned a LOT that given I'm only 36 weeks, and it's my first birth, it probably will take a while to get going. It can take up to 4 days!! I'm fully expecting it to take absolutely ages cause I just don't think I'm lucky enough for things to get moving straight away!

Nicky I'm genuinely shocked that you haven't been admitted in to hospital with everything that's going on! How are you coping? You must be utterly exhausted?!

Duck I hope that your situation isn't causing you too much stress my dear, you need to be able to relax!

Did I tell you that I have started hand expressing and putting milk in the freezer in the SCBU? It makes me happy that I can do something for the babies :-)

Will keep you updated on any big news or events over the next week xxx

Aw duck sorry to hear of your awful week...fingers crossed you can sort it hun and be happy. I have a very jealous side to me and it's rearing it's head at the min which is causing us to have words!!!

mrs hope you're doing OK hun and can't wait for pics of your beautiful babies xx

So I have been put on medication by my doctor which stopped the bleeding for 5 days and but even tho I'm taking them still I am bleeding again and it's getting heavier as the days go by....I've had horrendous period pain today the worse I have ever experienced in a long long time.....I have a scan date which isn't till 25th of July so still 2 weeks to go then I have to wait up to 10 days for results to go back to doctors....but it will probably be longer as I'm going away on 2nd of August till 12th xx

Nicky you poor thing! This must be so scary for you! I personally would try and stay away from looking symptoms up on the internet cause you could really worry yourself (hopefully unnecessarily).

I am back in the hospital, been here 4 nights now. I won't be coming back out again except on "day release" whereby they can monitor the babies in the morning, fill me with drugs, and then have me back by 5/6pm ish.
This will happen on Saturday (tomorrow), Sunday, Thursday, and then again on Sayurday and Sunday. THEN on Monday 11th I am being induced!!!

The list of things wrong with me and the medication I am on is so long! Xxx

Hi ladies..
I'm in leeds and have already decided that if the bleeding was as bad today then off to hospital I was going but today it's really slowed and no clots but there is still time. The doctor prescribed me a tablet to slow the bleeding too. I've had a blood test this morning to check for anemia. I'm feeling headachy and tired so trying to take it easy...my blood results are back tomorrow and I'm going to speak to doc tomorrow as not sure what happening regarding scan. And also got appointment Monday 4th with my regular doc so keeping that too...

I've been doing a little research and I think it maybe fibroid's . ..symptoms are similar so km going to mention that to the doctors too as another option....I did a pregnancy test today on advice of the doc and of course it was negative so I don't think it's eptopic really which is a relief. Xx
