Just that really - I'm pretty sure all my teachers made out that you had sex once EVER without and contraceptive that that was it - you were up the duff! Now I've been trying since beginning of dec and although af thought they would have some fun with me last month and turn up a week later (and got me all exciting little fooker Confused) I'm still not duff bound!! Am definitely starting to think that my teachers were telling porkies Wink

I was on the jab (prescribed for menorrhagia, not as a contraceptive, although it's the same thing) for 10 years before the dr said that was as much as I was allowed. It was nearly 2 years before my period returned!

When I then decided I wanted to TTC I had memories of school sex ed lessons in my head - not to mention past issues of Just 17 which reckoned you could get preggers without even having sex - and thought it should be pretty easy, I'm using IUI which involves a clinic taking Cream of Sperm, the Olympic swimmers of the lot, sticking them straight into the uterus at the very moment you ovulate, and it's still not guaranteed!!

Me TTC also seemed to coincide with several people I know getting pregnant accidentally despite doing all the "wrong" things (being v heavy / crap diet / drinking like fish / illegal drugs / smoking.) It's difficult not to resent them getting updiffed so quickly while you're chugging back grapefruit juice and vitamin tablets!

I came off the pill 1.5 yrs before I wanted to conceive. Conceived first month trying and never went back on it. I NEVER felt right on it.

I agree!! I was also worried when I came off the pill that I would be sick of having periods so often, when in fact I've had 2 natural periods and only one that seemed relatively normal since October. When I let myself I get in to a right rant about it all. Especially when no one told me that coming off the pill can totally and utterly mess your body up. If I'd have known this I might have come off sooner, or not started thinking about trying for a lot longer. Stress stress stress!!!!

Agree...if a boy sneezes you're preggers right!

Or it is that possible but the manufacturers of pills/rods etc don't want to scare us by telling truth that it takes forever to get out of our systems? X
