I started this same thread in December and was lucky enough (after 7 months!) to get pregnant with our first. Unfortunately I had a mc just before Christmas at 5 weeks. Cycle was a bit erratic at the start but looks like I ovulated at my normal time and BBT has risen. I'm almost certain I won't be lucky enough to get pregnant straight away after mc but I thought starting a thread like last time might help!!

I'm out :-(

Dh had some bad news today. His grandad died this afternoon and they were very close. He's flying to South Africa tomorrow to be with his family and will be away for all our fertile days :-(

That basically means I'm not on the March bus or the April bus, but will be trying again in May...

Feeling sad, but confident that number 2 will happen at just the right time. Will keep checking in to see how you girls are doing xx

Angel, I feel frustrated for you. But as swede said you are not old. I know it's hard but try to relax.

Unfortunately the bitch got me on Tuesday as I predicted. Trusty 12 day lp!!Hmm

Hello all, down with the flu, not fun when I can't take any meds. My scan was a bit disappointing. I thought I was 7 weeks but apparently only 6 (difficult to determine start of cycle as this was somewhere in the mc bleed) so all we could see was the sac but my gyno was very positive and said everything looked as it should. Back for another scan in about 2 weeks which hopefully will be a bit more interesting. Obviously still very worried but trying to take every day as it comes.

Tutti, 40 is not too old. My dad was 40 when I was born and it has never been an issue.

Sorry about your news Angel. It's just crap isn't it. Positive thoughts to you.

In bed with ginger and honey tea.

Thank you all for your kind words. Feeling very crap about it all. Saw a consultant yesterday who said I should wait a couple of months! How can I, i'm 41 in September!!
Trying so hard to be calm and relaxed about it all and only seem to feel stressed after i've seen a doctor!
Oh well!
Fingers crossed for everyone for March....Englush, we're banking on you for another BFP. I'm really hoping it's good news.
I think Aqua that all our DH's must thing we're nuts!

Hey girls, how is everyone? I'm feeling excited about getting on with things and trying again. Cd6 now and AF has been and gone. I hope I don't see her again for a while!

Swedeaway, how was your scan yesterday?

English, didn't you plan on testing yesterday or did AF arrive?

Tutti, are you officially in your 2ww now?

Babytinks, has your AF arrived? Where are you in your cycle?

Oh no angel!! I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. It's what we all dread. Is this number 2?
What have the doctors said.
I'm glad you and DH are looking after each other, I truly wish you a speedy recovery both mentally and physically and hope you get a sticky one soon xx

Hello ladies
Such a long time since i've been on. So sorry i've been off the radar. I was thinking of you all but doing a bit of soul searching too.

Swede I'm so thrilled for you! You got a BFP first month after mc. And to everyone else...so sorry. It's just shit isn't it.

Well i had AF first month after mc but then fell pregnant the second cycle after mc!! We were so thrilled but.....at 5 weeks i find myself having my second mc. Just so overwhelmed with sadness and disbelief I can't tell you.

I can't also tell you how much wine me and DH drank on Monday night!!! Way too much but to be honest the release was welcome.

So i'm on the March bus....can we ride it together?

xx

Oh Tutti, it is such an emotional roller coaster trying for a baby and the worst of downward spirals when you miscarry and lose that joy and hope so cruelly. You were given a glimpse of something so wonderful and precious and you have every right to want that again. I certainly don't think you would be being 'unfair' to any future child. My sister is 40 and had an unplanned pregnancy very recently; their new little boy is gorgeous and brings them such delight, he is quite the smiler :-). She also worries that perhaps they're too old, but I couldn't be more sure of the love and security that will surround that little boy for his whole life. There are so many children in this world that never know that kind of love and happiness, regardless of whether their parents are 20 or 50!

You can only do what you think is right, but don't let your age feature in the decision making....

Hey everyone...(waves)

Swede glad you getting a scan xx

To everyone who has af turned up .. Rubbish isn't it...

Well cd11 for me ... So back to opk sticks and getting down to business...

Only thing is ... Am beginning to doubt whether we are doing the right thing ... I am 40 .. Dh 53 .54 this year ... I am seriously thinking we are not being fair ... Thoughts?

We have discussed it over and over .. And hearts say yes .. Brains say no .. And for now have aimed to try for a couple of cycles and then call it quits ...
Before I found out I was pregnant ..(and then miscarried) we would never have tried for another ... But losing this one made us realise what we 'could' have had ...

Aargh I am making no sense Confused

I bought internet cheapies for opks again, but going to sack them and buy the clear blue digis this month! Going all out we are the same if no joy this month i think we'll take a break.
I dont think my bodys recovered fully from mc either. This would be cycle 3 so you would think so!!

You are all fab, thanks for the wise words and encouragement. Think I'm just going to chill now and wait until Sunday to test again. I plan to just enjoy valentines with dh and have a relaxing weekend.

I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit scared Swedeaway, I hope the scan next week shows everything to be healthy and normal.

Tigger, I reckon you could ask for a check up at the doctors if there's something you're worried about. They have to respond to specific symptoms or concerns, so I guess you'd need to have something specific that's worrying you and not phrase it as wanting a general check up.

Hey everyone, just checking in to see how you are all doing. Had a blood test on Monday which confirmed I am pg, still not sure how far a long but according to my calcs I should now be 6 + 1. Have an early scan booked for Fri next week so keeping fingers crossed that it will be ok. Honestly, I am not enjoying this pg at all so far. Just worrying that something will go wrong with this one as well. I am trying to busy myself with a million other things to keep my mind of it but being rather unsuccessful. Hopefully I will feel more positive after next Fri.

Can't read the posts back whilst writing but 11dpo is usually too early to test. I have always waited until AF is at least a day late to get the most accurate result. As someone said, it ain't over until the witch arrives!
