My 3 year old has:

Lego torch
Flying twirlywoo

And in her stocking:
Wooden watch
Wooden necklace & bracelet

Looks a lot but I stuck to my £100 budget so i'm happy :)

Oh and some make up/nail varnish for her stocking, which she loves because she wants to be 'just like mummy," like most 3 year old girls. I give zero fucks how 'yuck' some dickheads may think that is.

DD is 3 a few weeks before Christmas, so we buy a load and then split however feels right at the time.

So far on the list to get is -
DC superhero girls dolls
My little ponies
Princess dress up sets
Disney princess barbie style dolls
Lego friends juniors bits
Happy land bits, but she has a lot already so not sure what - possibly the boot.
Cooking bits like apron, child sized spatulas etc etc as she absolutely loves to 'help' me cook.
Rocking horse

Not sure if we'll get a lot else, we did dolls house, kitchen, Disney princess little people, bike, scooter etc last year so can't do any of those bits really!

30percent what's wrong with lipgloss? My 4 year old loves playing with makeup. Surely at 4 it's just like having your face painted.
She's seen me putting makeup on since she was a baby so I guess it comes from there. It's just fun.
She also likes to hobble about in my high heels too. Should I not encourage that either.
Chill out!

"Some nail varnish and lip gloss for stocking (she's been asking for ages)"

Wow, does she have older sisters or cousins? Why is your 3 yr old child into beauty and makeup products? I would not encourage this. Seiously lip gloss for a toddler yuck

Wayfarersonbaby might the doll or tree house be big enough as a present from Santa? Like my dd it sounds like she already has a fab selection of toys!

Dd is three just after Christmas and I've had a dolls house saved for the last two years because I went a bit overboard!

For Christmas we've so far got her a playmobil set, a Duplo set and some fancy dress. I'm struggling to think of stocking fillers and a main present from us for Christmas this year. We have loads of playmobil 123, loads of Duplo, train track and a toy kitchen, plus the usual assortment of wooden blocks, puzzles, teddies, babies and instruments. Her craft drawers are well stocked with glitter glue, paints, pom poms and pipe cleaners! What else could a three year old need?

Oops just realised I'm a bit over my stocking budget total there Blush - might keep a couple of things for next year, the harmonica and the kite maybe!

DD will be almost 4 and is probably getting a bike for her birthday. For Christmas, I've already done loads of shopping and she'll be getting, so far:

  • a soft toy Peekaboo
  • some musical bath toys
  • a singing robin toy
  • a wooden play tree house (ELC, reduced to £20 in the summer sale). I might get some Sylvanian animals to go with the above, possibly a mouse family, as she's into Brambly Hedge stories at the moment
  • another small Duplo set (she loves Duplo)
  • an Amelia doll from JoJo, which she's been coveting
  • a rabbit nightlight
  • a new dressing-gown with stars on it
  • a set of My Naughty Little Sister books

Not sure what else to get - I feel like she hasn't yet got a "main" present from Santa. Lots of the things I've got so far were discounted or picked up on offers and in sales, so I have a bit of leeway, budget-wise. I have a hunch she'd love some Magnatiles (she loves building things), but they seem so expensive; and are they exciting enough for a big present from Santa.....? Any other suggestions? She already has things like scooter, doll's house, toy kitchen, train track, Duplo, Sticklebricks, doctor's kit, playhouse. I'm struggling to think of other "big" presents that she would like.

For advent she will be having a picture calendar, new Christmas pyjamas, the Sarah & Duck Petal Light Picking (Christmas episode-containing) DVD, and a Frozen electric toothbrush. (Wish I got as excited as she does about the prospect of a new electric toothbrush Hmm) I've also got a three new Christmas books from recommendations on here - Christmas in Exeter Street, the Jolly Christmas Postman, and The Empty Stocking.

Stocking fillers - I have already stocked up on loads from Tiger, last year's sales, and the summer sales at dotcomgiftshop and Hawkin's! I might have to stockpile some for next year! I love love love picking up stocking fillers, and keep an eagle eye out all year in sales etc. for really reduced things. Aim to spend no more than about £20-ish. So far I think I will give her:
  • mini butterfly kite (£2.50, National Trust shop)
  • unicorn pencil with glittery rubber on the top (£1, Hawkin's)
  • bubbles (50p, Tiger)
  • wind-up dinosaur in plastic egg (£1, Paperchase sale)
  • gingerbread bubble-bath in mini snow globe packaging (£1.25, Boots January sale)
  • Penguin fingerless gloves (John Lewis sale a while ago, can't remember how much - couple of quid?)
  • Mini Snowman soft toy (£4 John Lewis sale, last Christmas)
  • Christmas London stickers (£1 Paperchase sale last Christmas)
  • stripy red and green candy cane (£75p in local deli, they sell them year-round, no idea why!)
  • Jelly Belly mini fruit bean selection (£1.50 in John Lewis last week, has best before date of end of November, I'll take a chance on it that DD won't be poisoned by them four weeks later at Christmas Grin)
  • Mini harmonica in box (£1.95 dotcomgiftshop, Jan sales)
  • Foam bouncy ball with fish on it (£1, Hawkin's, summer sale)
  • Light-up bath duck (£2, Hawkin's, summer sale)
  • last year's Charlie and Lola Christmas magazine which I forgot to give DD and later found in bag in cupboard, it's not like she'll know it's a year out of date! Grin
  • Woodland animal hair clips (£1, dotcomgiftshop summer sale)
  • glitter hair ties (£1 John Lewis summer sale)
  • small tube of 12 coloured pencils (£1, dotcomgiftshop January sale)
  • small notebook (2 for £1, Tiger)

I think that's pretty much everything that I could fit in! I'm really pleased I managed to get so many stocking fillers throughout the year - it really saves me so much time and I love doing it. When the Christmas chocolate items come out in the shops I'll also get her some chocolate coins and something else chocolatey to put in.

Have you looked on Amazon for farm sets GiraffesAndButterflies ?
I watched a couple of nice wooden ones on there last year.

Great tip off about the jigsaws Shemazzle

Last year DD was 2.10 and the big successes were a wooden dollhouse, playmobil camping set, and sticker books.

This year I'm planning Lego, more playmobil, and shopkins (which I suspect won't get played with past Boxing Day but at least they don't take much space).

I think she'd also like a farm set but I haven't seen any nice ones, any recommendations?

DD will be 3 at the end of Nov.

For birthday she's getting a dressing up rail with lots of outfits.

For Xmas we've got her the wooden dolls house and furniture from asda, Anna and Elsa dolls, a Minnie Mouse dressing up doll set and will get her some books and Orchard games / puzzles. Possibly some kinetic sand.

DD's birthday is quite close to Christmas so this list covers both, she'll be just 3:

  • balance bike and helmet
  • doctor kit
  • train set
  • science experiment set
  • a few stocking fillers like a game about finding things outdoors
  • some activity books
  • maybe a maths game that can be used with a tablet
  • maybe a dress up outfit. She likes pirates, if I see a good one I might get it.

We buy her books during the year, so possibly some more books but not too many. She already has a play kitchen, which she loves, and loads of soft toys, so no more of those.

My daughters third birthday is in late December, so I'm trying to get a lot of ideas together for birthday and Christmas. So far I'd like to get her a pirate outfit and pirate toy (possibly this wooden fort thing I've seen), a toy pram or buggy, and possibly the Minnie Mouse plane or camper van. I'm toying with the idea of a big dolls house but think I might save it until she's a bit older.
