Or is it just me?! Last night we had our 'mini Christmas dinner' evening - it's a tradition in our house where we have a mini roast dinner with cava, a cracker each, and a Christmas film (this year it was Lost Christmas, the Eddie Izzard drama from a few years ago which makes me cry every time) on the first Saturday after bonfire night. It's not as madly Christmas as it sounds but we do it to mark the start of the run up, given that bonfire night is the last 'big' thing before Christmas. It's lovely, and when DD was little it was super magical (she's 18 now and loves it just as much).
Anyway I've woken up today with a slightly sore head and I'm feeling soooo Christmassy. I just want to get on with it! Not in a putting up the decs way (although a neighbour has hers up!), just all the lovely lovely Christmas stuff. Is anyone else 'there' already and just too bloody impatient to get going?!

bollocks that sounds lovely and so thoughtful! I love finding something extra special for someone, I get more excited about that than anything else. This year I've found DH his favourite childhood toy which was really hard to get hold of, and a genuine Suffragette badge for DD. And I agree, this is one of the nicest bits of MN! 
Well today I've been writing lists (and checking them twice, ha!) with a sneaky afternoon Bailey's. Another mini-tradition for the first Monday after Bonfire Night. And I've settles for coloured lights - every time I see them on someone else's tree I do a little gasp of delight, so as I need new ones I thought sod it, this year it's colour all the way. Me and DD have had a look through all the decs to pick out the lovely jewel toned ones in red, blue, green and gold to loosely match the lights. DH will be delighted, he's wanted coloured lights all his life but both his mum and me always insisted on 'tasteful' warm white! Not going to tell him - me an DD are going to decorate while he's at work so it'll be a lovely sparkly surprise when he gets in! That'll be two weeks come Friday (27th) - early, but we want to squeeze as much as we can from Christmas this year. DD is going to uni next year so it feels very important that we do.
It's just started snowing where I am...but it's a rain/snow mix and is melting on the ground. My 2.5 year old has had a good cry because he wants to make a snowman.
He'd fit in well with some of you lot 
I told him to be patient we'll have more than enough snow soon and will be begging for spring by mid January.

) how great to have loads of lights and other stuff to think about on darkests days of the year!

My DH has been dispatched to attic with Halloween decs .
I have already wrapped 70% of gifts will leave jujjing till xmas eve....
I have a few presents left to get.
I am chomping on the bit op, but not in the mood yet..I am resisting. I am v tempted to go to JL xmas dept, but am saving it all till december this year.

Presents bought, and mostly wrapped, a lot few new decorations bought, shopping list sorted online, as soon as the slots open I will book one. I think if I played Christmas music openly it would be too much for the rest of them, but I play it on my way to work

I passed a house last night they had all their Christmas lights out, wreath, tree up. I wondered if they get sick of it all by Christmas.

I am running g at about 40% at the moment, on the christmas scalendar. Set to improve on the 15th when I get paid and an finish up my Xmas shopping :)
I am absolutely bursting to give my dgmil her present, she doesn't talk much but we've gotten quite close and I've bought her something she told me she used to dream about as a little girl. I really can't wait to give it to her

I hear that Smooth Xmas is back on DAB for those looking for a Christmas music station, it's fab - lots of cheesiness plus lovely vintage classics. When it starts broadcasting I know we're really getting there.
I'm currently deliberating over whether to change the habit of a lifetime and go for coloured lights on the tree this year - we need new ones and I've fallen in love with the coloured lights bedecked tree in the window of my local JL. It's so colourful! But I'd want to mix it with coloured and clear lights elsewhere in the room (warm white net lights in the window, red ones over the bookshelves etc) and I don't know whether it'd look cool and eclectic or chaotic and tacky... Opinions gratefully received!
Been watching the Christmas cookery shows with hot chocolate and a roaring fire - nothing makes me feel as warm and fuzzily festive as watching Delia stuffing her turkey
I'm not but I want to be!!! I hate the weeks between bonfire night and the 1st week of Dec. I feel like I'm in no mans land

I'm in full blown Christmas mode too Wrapped half my presents ,written out my cards and soaking my fruit for the Christmas fruit. In fact I was listening to Christmas music whilst I was carving my pumpkin last weekend 
My mood tends to plummet in winter , I think because of the darker evenings and the cold so Christmas is the one thing that keeps me going (sad I know ). I always remember my dad hating Christmas when I was younger and would really put a damper on things. I want my kids to enjoy their Christmases so try and really build it up for them. Also , I find if I do it all at once then it takes a bigger hit to my bank balance as opposed to spreading it out - I'm a lot more chilled that way.
Saying that , I never inflict it on others (apart from my partner , kids and mum ) so don't put decorations up until December.
