Report When Shops Get Christmas Stock In/Christmas Shops Open

I don't know if we already have a thread like this, but in my attempt to organise Christmas I was thinking we should have a pale where we can let others know if Christmas stock has come in.

I often end up missing it and then find it has been pillaged by the likes of you lot savvy shoppers before I've even thought about going.

So if you spot new christmas stock online or in-store, alert the thread.

Shop around Knitted, I'm sure I've seen similar elsewhere. Otherwise M&S usually do a 25% off in the run up to Christmas/last weekend of November.

IKEA Dublin is not opening Christmas until next week. But there is Christmas stuff in the food store, like snowmen marsh, allows and a Swedish traditional festive drink, and others.

Oh, I forgot, M&S actually had a few Christmas jumpers for Ladies this year, (no kids really in Grafton St - that's for suburbia!). There were at least 6 designs, some more refined and restrained, but at least 3 full on Christmas scenes!! (I might possibly go back for a red one tomorrow or next week - they won't sell THAT fast, I was just concerned about the decoration as I always miss out on things I see and say "I WILL go back for that" - but lunchour was already over by about 15 minutes!! EEks!).

Primark christmas jumpers have been out a few weeks now but I think our baby ones only came in last week or the week before.
My unborn son already has a Christmas jumper ;)
And I know it's been said but oh my God the Boots Christmas baby clothes are amazing this year!

Overnight, the keep fit gear moved from M&S on Grafton St, Dublin, and there is now the start of the Christmas Dept (some cards, wrap, crackers and the first few decorations and wreaths). Near the Duke St exit (for those local!!).

I got the London Bus decoration, as they may not get many of those in Ireland, and DH has a transportation job that involves buses (and bicycles, and some cars and road stuff too - makes for really, um, interesting, holiday photos!!Grin). For his stocking.

But sadly, no sign of the food ordering books, and I was trying to get one sneakily a day early.

Boots on Grafton Street do not yet have Christmas stock, but the catalogue is out (and will be devoured with a cup of tea tonight!).

And LUSH also had loads of seasonal bath treats and boxed sets and seasonal fabric wrapping (the big squares) also out. So I got the Santa Claus bath bomb for DD and the big Gift one for me, for the Christmas Eve hamper. A few annual returns that I was happy to see, and a few new ones I don't remember (e.g. snowman melts, angel melts). But no book in store so I have to check online for the full range, again tonight.

I've been to the range (Derby) Costco (Derby) and ikea (nottongham) and they all had proper christmas sections open. Spent a small fortune! The range looked like it had decent quality fake trees at not too bad a price (found supermarket ones in the last rubbish) though I'd already bought online. The decorations in ikea are gorgeous but didn't seem to have many larger sets (lots of 3/4 selections).

Went in to my local John Lewis today full of hope, but nothing is out yet! A few crafty bits in the haberdashery and a few cooking bits elsewhere, but the second floor Christmas section was still full of 'Back to Uni' stuff.

~sobs~

The stupid students are practically all back already, John Lewis, and they don't want your tasteful saucepans and stationery! SHOW US THE CHRISTMAS STUFF ALREADY!

Yes, I went to libertys in early October last year one morning when the kids were at school, it was lovely, quiet, I practically had the place to myself. I took the DCs back there in December to choose a decoration. It was chaos, low stock, crowded full of stressed shoppers and staff and just looked a bit grubby.

Liberty always opens very early, they get the tail end of the summer tourists who want a London memento. I actually worked on the first ever Liberty full-on christmas shop. Nightmare to organise, but they start buying for it in January from what I remember.

Ikea is supposed to be from the first of october but by searching christmas I managed to get a few bits up earlier.
