My DS, age 6 1/2, got an X-Box and Kinnect for his birthday. He enjoys playing several games - Star Wars, a racing one, etc. I am aware that many of the Xbox games are pretty violent - he certainly doesnt play Halo or Call of Duty!!
His favourite by far seems to be Battlefield 1943 - only he is only allowed to play the taining demo, which allows him to run around blowing things up, but not actually fighting anyone.
All he talks about is having X box live, and how you can do 'everything' with X box live.
His dad has X box live (not at our house) and he has said that if I am happy with it, he can put certain controls on it, and he will get it for him, but I am not keen and I dont know if its a legitimate 'not keen' or due to not really understanding what the dealis, and Im scaed of getting something which could pose a problem.
Does anyone else have it (well, Im sure you do) what do you do to ensure online safety with kid in regards to it. also running up huge bills (is this even possible?) DS is pretty sensitive, I dont want him to end up being called 'a f*** faggot' by a bunch of teengae Americans (as this seems to be all Ive heard when DP switched his on the other day)
My feeling is he should just carry on with the normal Xbox for a while longer, but its the only thing which he has asked for...

My son wants xbox live aswell. They only thing that panics me is him speaking to strangers on it, I'm sure you can book blocks on it, I will have to look into properly?! One thing tho, don't connect your back card to it, coz everytime he wants to but movies or games, the money comes off your card...! You can buy Microsoft points and put them on it and when he wants to buy something it comes off his points :)
