Decide now about whether to wrap gifts from Santa or not; where to hang you dd's stocking - bedroom or fireplace? We never wrapped the Santa gifts - and everything was made/assembled ready to go which meant many sessions at 3 am with dh scratching his head trying to figure out what went where However they got older and Santa was no longer, we started to wrap the gifts. Stockings were (and still are) hung by fireplace but once filled are placed on beds. This was a good idea when they were small as it kept them entertained for a while which delayed having to go downstairs at 5 am. Enjoy, it's a little bit of magic Xmas Grin

Def reindeer dust on the doorstep. Next year, buy a xmas story book that haa her name in the title, if possible, and read it every Xmas. DA has a book where the main character has the same first name as his, and he's so excited every yr when it comes out of the attic with the Xmas tree.

Also, have u heard of the "Christmas elf" tradition? Search google for it. Basically what we do is, we bought a wee toy snowman from poundstretcher a few yrs ago. Every yr, while the tree is being put up, the doorbell rings, and the snowman is at the door, having been dropped off by Santa to keep an eye on DS til Xmas day, to make sure he's being a good boy. He stays til xmas eve, when Santa collects him while delivering the gifts.
The snowman gets up to mischief at times (eg tonight he "ate" the chocolate decorations off the tree. DS was furious. But yesterday he brought DS the Grinch book as a surprise.
It's a lot of fun thinking of wee surprises and mischief for DS to discover, and he believes it all 100%, even tho he's 7! It's turned into a lovely tradition which we'll continue to do for many yrs. Ds2 is still little, so hopefully in years to come, ds1 will help with the fun!
Have a lovely 1st xmas x
