Am thinking of buying a few sets of these for my soon to be 9 and 7 year old?

Are these any good and are they fun and worth it? Trying to make to most of the 3 for 2 deals at Argos and Boots and these do add up but need a few sets in order to make the most of these toys?

Have made the most of Argos and Boots 3 for 2 deals.

Have splashed out on 4 hamsters and got the fun house, the piazza set, the airport, the grooming set, the pizza set, and 5 accessory parts.

Just hope the girls will play with these and the concensus is that they are fun and as I have wooden floors and space, they can play with these even if their friends come round.

Thank you all for replying.

The hamsters are the best part , we have the slide which is good when can be bothered / find enough space to set up. Forget the ball waste of time as is the bags / beds!

they dont work well on carpet and do not put near long hair as it will get caught and you will have a screaming child.

my ds (nearly 6) has the kung zu hamster which i think are the more boyish version of the zhu zhu ones. He loves his. although he's only had it a few weeks so the novelty probably hasn't worn off yet

My nieces love them. They have some kind of car and garage that's really funny. My 9 month old DD is fascinated by them.

Buy the hamsters and ONE accessory. I went mad last xmas and the only bit played with is the hamsters themselves.

I have 2 dds (3 and 6) between them they have 4 zhu zhus. They do enjoy playing with them occasionally. However I would warn that I am fairly intolerant of irritating noises and they irritate me (the hamsters not the dds!)

They are also a bit tricky to switch off. Also if you pick one up to put in toy box or whatever they squeak and witter on. :)

We also have the playhouse, a double buggy and two "baby" hamsters, plus some "bedding"

We have 4 hamsters, never ever played with, apart from about a week ago when dd1 ran one across ds's head and ripped him a bald patch. rubbish!

DD1 only has 2 hamsters. Not bothered to get anything else so far as not cheap and she has shown little interest in the hamsters. Maybe she would use them more if i got the playhouse or ball or something. She has asked for some more for Christmas.
