Ideas for a Christening Present? Please

I would like to buy my friends daughter a book for her Christening present.

A lovely illustrated hard back copy of something classic would be great, but I am not sure which. I have thought about The Chronicles of Narnia, Peter Rabbit, Grimm's Fairy Tales. Things that could be enjoyed as Children and reminisced over as adults.

Wonder if anyone had an suggestions of titles, of specific additions that they know would make a nice heirloom book present.

Thanks.

When are you wanting it for. I am waiting for this book to be live //www.mygivenname.com which is a personalised book but great for a keepsake i think as it builds a story around the newborn babies name. They sent me some samples and it is very good.

Winnie the Pooh stories.

Or a poetry collection, something like A Child's Garden Of Verse.

Oh, I think Wind in the Willows would be lovely schmalex, I didn't think of that but I loved it when I was growing up. I also like the idea of a book with her name in it but cant think of any Jessica's.

Will disappear to Amazon now and look at the Robert Sabuda classic pop ups.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you seen the Robert Sabuda classic pop ups? They are slightly abridged classics but the pop ups are amazing - DD has The Wizard of Oz, she's only allowed to look at with a grown up at the moment though.

I think any of the ones you've mentioned would be lovely. Or perhaps Alice in Wonderland or Wind in the Willows?
Is there anything with a character with the same name as the child?
