Anyone else due this week WAITING & keen to get going ?!!

I'm due Christmas Day; saw the MW on Friday who said head was eng and cervix favourable. She did a sweep to help matters along (early, due to borderline age- I'm 39).
She predicted it would be before Xmas & I've had the show over the last few days. Had cramps on Monday & thought it was kicking off but nothing since. I got my hopes up Grin
Now in weird parallel universe of anticipation!!
Anyone else waiting it out?

Hi girls,

Sorry for the lack of reply!

Baby Arran was born on Friday at 3.07pm weighing a hefty 9lbs!

It was pretty traumatic so im glad it's over! Went in early hours fri morning and was only 3cms, got given gas and air, they examined me again at 8am after my waters broke and I was still the same so they started me on the induction drip, pain got intense pretty quick so had diamorphine coped well for a while then ended up with a epidural (not what I'd planned at all but hey!) started pushing at 2pm and he arrived at 3.07pm.

Next thing I know, there was a lot of bother trying to get the placenta to come away so they were massaging my tummy REALLY HARD, got the doctor in to see if he could do it but he couldn't, next thing u know there's a full crash team in the room, I didn't know at the time but at the time when they managed to get the placenta away, a MASSIVE blood clot followed. Turns out I had a PPH. Then once that had all been sorted had to have the doctor stitch me up as I had a 3deg tear.

So pretty traumatic but I'm over the moon he's here!

X

I empathise mollys & 3peas
It's tough waiting it out. I'm glad that I took it easy this time & just had loads of baths, watched DVDs and had a lot of sleep (as much as you can with a toddler) instead of rushing about trying to induce labour as I did last time (pineapple/rasp leaf tea/ curry /long long walks etc....I was exhausted by the time my waters broke).
Here's hoping you don't have too much longer & be kind to yourselves while you wait Flowers xxx

After 50 hours in labour our little boy was born at 9am today. We are shattered but just so happy! Let's just say it was an experience, few hair raising moments when his heart rate dropped & the emergency team flew in! But managed a normal delivery in the end which am so happy about.

Good luck ladies looking forward to the next birth announcement ;)

Nope Molly not a thing. Cramps and the runs (tmi) and that's it! Baby has been very quiet too. If your worried u would ring labour ward and see what they say. Back up to hospital in morning see what happens! Prob get another sweep and with any luck I go into labour very soon!!!!

How is everybody today?

I had a show today so that's quite exciting! Anything happen after urs 3peas?

I was out last night and noticed my feet were really swollen, thought it was just cos I had been standing up a lot but they're still quite puffy today and the baby isn't moving as much as usual. Think I might phone the hospital soon, I'm getting myself in a bit of a panic, I'll drink some cold juice and eat some Chocolate first. X

Hi ladies
Sorry for the lack of reply.
Our beautiful baby boy arrived on the 26th at 330am after a 24 hour labour.
Still trying to recover as having so much unexplained swelling ( sorry its so gross) down there and havent slept since the 24th of dec!
Labour was tough, no waterbirth as heart rate was high, had fever etc etc. baby was back to back and it took so long of back to back contractions to get to 4cm.
It all nearly happened on christmas day!! I was contracting all through the opening of presents and the meal every 5-6 mnts- ridiculous!!!

Sorry havent read all thats been going on on the thread as ive been so busy but i had to update you as you have all been so fantastic. Will try and catch up on the latest events soon. Hope you are all ok.
Xx
